What kind of car do you drive?
Did you seek out the manufacturer and toured the facilities?...the assembly line that constructed your vehicle?
Have you located your regional auto dismantler, and discovered how your car will be crushed and recycled when it has outlived it's usefulness?
...Or do you just put the key in and drive?

All this preoccupation with where we came from and our afterlife?
Stop being so religious and just enjoy life.

I agree with you Max to a certain extent. I keep my version of God in my heart and private away from others but I don't follow the script Per SE and I enjoy life very much. I drink the wine, listen to the music, we all have a certain set of vices that make us human.

Same here.. some people have taken their faith to such a level that are not being effective in our society anymore.. I have relationship with God, I pray, go to church sometime, etc but at the same time I enjoy life and don't act in a way to prove that I am more spiritual than others..

For me it's not about religion. It's about the relationship with one's creator. Jesus wasn't crucified for Christianity but for everyone who comes to recongnize Him as their savior.
And just because you perceive someone as being religious doesn't mean they aren't living their life to the fullest, unless you mean someone who wants to stay away from sin is somehow handicapped from fully enjoying his life. That's a ridiculous notion. I'll even argue that people who believe in a creator enjoy their lives more than people who believe that their whole life force is simply contained in their physical cells.
There's nothing wrong with religious people or those who simply believe that Creation didn't just appear one day. Just because you aren't a believer doesn't mean you are superior or have a better handle on life.

I respect one's right to believe as they wish...I do not respect when they try to impose their beliefs on others, wanting us to discover their god...knocking on my door on Sunday and try preaching, let alone the violence that it creates...they are more than welcome to lop off their own head and leave mine attached, thank you.

or you could try it the nice way!

There was a knock on the door this morning.

I opened it to find a young man standing there who said: "Hello sir, I'm a Jehovah's Witness..."

I said "Come in and sit down."

I offered him coffee and asked, "What do you want to talk about?"

He said, "Buggered if I know, I've never got this far before."bigsmile

People who come knocking on my door at odd hours, and people who come into the locale laundromat, just to try and win me over with their smooth religious talk ....yup, I admire and take my hat off to....they are actually living their faith....thats the kinda courage I do not possess...what can I say...My beliefs are pretty much embedded and private, and its hard to convince me otherwise. Its always nice to converse and see other points of view though....just saying...

Sorry I thought the world was made by the devil when god was not looking given all the horrors of poverty, pestilence, famine, disease, disasters, mental illness, cruelty, and a grandiose dose of self aggrandizement to quell the obvious flaws in any argument for design.....

I agree with you.
And religious people and believers also don't want non - believers shoving their paganism and New Age hocus-pocus down their throat to the point of social ostracism and public ridicule, which happens much more often than a couple of well - mannered youngsters knocking on your door.

No I don't do all of that. But I check the oil....I make sure the tires are inflated....I'm aware of any noises that may be symptoms of an impending breakdown.
If I got in and just drove all the time, I, at the least, would soon run out of gas.....and, at the worst, may crash and burn.

I'd read the manual as well, Rebel. Knowing is better than guessing.

its relative

maybe we dont hunt down where the car was made or where it will go

but we study for years who founded american and we vote regularly on where we want it to go

maybe its just a matter or priorities

cars are low on the totem pole
national customs and national future a bit higher
and personal history and future even higher

it is much more valued if I worked hard for cash to buy that tv, than if I happened to win it without having to put in the work

sometimes knowing the story behind it can make it even more precious

living life can be fuller with more knowledge than just that existing in the moment

but its up to each of us to determine what 'full' is for us

Ikr? You'd be better served with being more preoccupied on how to make a forum quote.....anything above that is probably outside your current skill set.

I like the Benz you have pictured...Is that Hitlers car?...I heard he was coming back.
I want that dual rear wheeled one he used to ride in the parades...awesome car.
