Topic: Amount of Emails to the Women Here

On other dating sites' forums I've read the female members are overwhelmed with emails, so they can't possibly respond to every one. So for the women members here: are you also overwhelmed with emails (both good and not-so-good)? Can you give an estimate on the number of emails you receive from different, new men per week? Am curious. Your responses here might ease some men's feelings on why they say they don't get many emails or responses.

Mike, I don't receive many on this site, and the ones I have received...not so good. Not sure of the reason behind it. I've received more on other sites, but the sick ones outweigh the legit. I don't typically email first - I have on a few, but never heard back. I figured they were looking for a leggy blonde...ohwell

Hello, my number of emails come in waves then level off then come again when new guys join.
I reply to every one that emails me. Since 95% of the men who email me do not read my profile and I clearly state I do not want nudges or any form of flirts and those I will not respond to I do not reply to that unwanted type of approach.
I have read several women's comments here that state their frustration that men do not read the profile and I have heard from men that reading the profile is not what they are interested in doing.
So we have a living example of "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus". I feel a man serious in his pursuit would want knowledge to be able to enhance how he makes first contact but men do not see it that way.
Just MHO.

Spot on, Danigapeach! So many it was quite obvious they hadn't even looked at my profile! I always check that first. I don't respond to the creeps; they aren't worth the effort of doing so!

I got a ton of mail when I first re-activated Mr account. More than not appeared to be scammers or way too young. I fixed my mail settings, and now I don't get much at all.

I am okay just having a place to come and Mingle, and its free :). I paid for EH, and had less contacts.

I think the young ladies get a lot of mail.

I haven't been on Mingle that long....less than a week. I have gotten far more emails on other sites but not complaining. Least I have some!

Mmmm started out at about 200 a day.
I have the taken status on my profile, gives you an idea
how much tis read, eh?

Now it can be 20-60 a day BUT, because Kristi and I are Mods,
we are at the top of all the Search lists (premium) so we
stay in Stealth to avoid always appearing 'online' which
attracts even more.

We also can block no one (tears) and we get a lot of
mail with M2 questions.

I bet 98% of my mail is insincere, M2 queries, scammers..(man,
do they pick the wrong ones to mail or what?) and friends.

Hope that helps :-)

I think it the faceless guys who do that the most... bombard the gals with e-mails.

You know, you can never trust the faceless..... friggin weasels.

Used to get a lot, a lot being at least 10 a day, from certain countries I will not mention, mostly younger men. I changed my email settings to 30 yrs or older (or something like that), then got less.

I read online that having a good, positive profile text helps to keep scammers of your back. Positive stuff repels them. So I experimented with that, and yes!, I got even fewer mails. Does work a treat.

I'm not located in the USA, so that must make a difference too. I can't help anyone obtain a green card laugh

I think now it's an average of about 2-4 a day. I don't reply, I delete. I'm not looking and not interested in the umpteenth "Hi dear" or "You're so pretty".

Occasionally I do get a normal, genuine feeling mail. In such cases I do reply to tell him I'm not interested. I've experienced on other sites that men really appreciate getting a reply, even if it says you're not interested.

Getting a 'normal' email happens rarely though. Less than once a month. The rest is all bullcrap.
Which comes down to 99.9999% being bullchit... Doesn't mean that as a man you don't stand a chance. It does mean you have to come with something better than "Hi dear" or "you look lovely. I would like to get to know you."
