So did you feel good when you said that? laugh laugh

There may be some truth in that tho....it's not that only fools fall in love, but rather, don't be a fool when you fall in love or don't be a fool when you're in love...coz being in love & i mean real love, one can tend to be a blind fool without realising it & you can be taken advantage of...So i'd say it's rather don't be a fool when in love i guess whateverohwell

Sounds like you were talking to someone under 50. Because by then (hopefully before 50). People realize, just how important compatibility & companionship is.

Wish them well, in there quest for rainbows & unicorns & a role in a Disney movie laugh

LOVE IS A FEELING
you cannot maths it out with any + or - , to any result
so some who has a great brain can say so it's a fool's play

I think you got it. Her whole thought was, if i never allow myself to go that deep emotionally, then I can't be hurt. But it seems like a really wasted and empty life to never allow yourself to connect emotionally to another person

ITS THERE POO THEY OWN IT....EVERYTHING IN OUR LIVES IS ABOUT BELIEF ''WHAT WE

BELIEVE IS OUR REALITY''.....IF YOU BELIEVE WHAT YOU THOUGHT YOU WILL GET MORE

OF WHAT YOU GOT......WE TEACH PEOPLE HOW TO TREAT US BY ALLOWING THEM TO TREAT

US IN THE WAYS WE DO.....I AM TAKING A COURSE ON ''HOW TO GET ME BACK''....THE

FIRST THING WE NEED TO REALIZE IS EVERYTHING ANYONE TELLS US IS ''ITS ALL ABOUT

THEM'' AND HAS NOTHING DO DO WITH US....smile2

A cliché comes to mind.... "It's better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all"

The end of my last relationship broke my heart, but I wouldn't give it up for anything. The happiness I got to feel was well worth the pain.

Call me a fool - I don't care.

sorry but probably that person is a loser and want to make the others feel the same hopeless+desperate+miserable way so he/she will not feel/look like the only one.

- why couldnt you pass your maths exam?
+ most of the others in the class couldnt pass either!!
- ohh okay then. no problem. that makes sense.

I don't think love is only a feeling ---feelings go with only favourable circumstances. In practice, we express love when we feel like and with hold it we don't feel like.
However, genuinely love stem from the heart---way deeper than feelings.
This kind of love can still find full expression weather one feels like or not. Circumstances will not affect its full expression.

Well, to look at it another way, there is that famous Wayne Gretzky quote:

"You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."

If you are closed off to love, you're not going to experience it.

What do you think?

I think it would be far more interesting to learn all the things that led up to someone asking you "what do you look for from a woman."

Otherwise if you're asking what I think about the quote:
Only Fools Fall In Love

I think it's one of those trite specious sayings.
Most people are fools most of the time.

I think you should have be honest with the person asking the question. If you are primarily looking for friendship and then eventually love, you should be in love right now. There are billions of women that meet that criteria.

What that person wanted to know is what are your tentative requirements. Apparently you like to jump to conclusions and put other's opinions down before partaking in an actually conversation.

I agree sounds like you jumped to conclusions ultimately shutting down conversation.

If that is the case I am a big fool who loved one man for 25 years. And lost a battle with a cancer.
Three years later I am still single because I know the difference between love and lust.
I am quite content with living independently on my own. Why would I follow casual dating trends just to blend in?
People shall believe whatever they choose to believe anyways. So, why not let them keep their conclusion.
Fool? It is a deal. :-)

Excellent answer!

In love or not everyone has their boundaries. It is up to us not to cross other people's boundaries and not to allow them to cross ours.
That is a matter of respect.
