Hi, I recently ended a potential great relationship because he would only send texts and not bother to call. (We use Viber). I took it as a sign that he was not really into me based on my experience with other interested guys I met in dating site who were persistent to ask for my number so they could hear my voice.

He told me that he used to call his ex EVERY DAY and would even travel 7 hours just to see her. What is one-minute call versus 7 hours of travel?

Dating and romance blogs also mention that when a man does not call, he simply is not into you.

Your thoughts?

Sorry but - He is just not into you.

If a man is really interested, he will find a way.

Calls will lead to video calls...which leads to discovering he is not the one in his profile pic...then you won't send him money to travel see you, which he wouldn't do anyway once he has your money...he is a scammer.

He should have called.. no doubt.

I do find that people ( in general) text way too much and little by little the human voice is being removed altogether from normal conversation.

seems nobody talks anymore... just text or electronic communication.

it is a shame.

Hi Maxsterx, thanks for your time in sharing your thoughts. I, however, would like to assure you that there is no way I will send money to a man just to see me. I think it is pathetic for any woman to do that.

When I told him that I felt that he is not into me by not calling, he replied by saying that I should have told him that I need him to call me...OUCH!

flowerforyou Hi greeneyes, I do agree with you. It is both a shame and sad that some have lost the art of conversation.

Wow Bullseye
I admit that i'm a person who don't get by with the art of conversation
I better understand things in simple and straightforward manner, not proud of being this socially lacking, just livin it
But i guess if i could drastically change into a totally different isn't it mean i just lost myself, i'm not sure though.. gasp

I prefer texting over calling myself...

It's easier to shoot a text at a red light or parking lot, during a TV show, on the toilet, etc. Than finding your hands-free headset and hooking it all up..

Ups.. (doesn't) it mean i just lost myself, i'm not sure though..

To improve not to change, maybe..
only i find it not that easy, yeah.. i'm not proud of myself..

I tend to think that a person that only wants to text and never call is not very interested in you. Texts are just for short chit chat once in a while. A phone call is more personal and much easier. You press a couple of buttons, then talk to a person. Texting is pressing a lot of buttons and not knowing if the other person even cares to read it. Texting on the toilet? How romantic.

When you take pride in growth (no matter how small) your growth will accelerate and you won't regret what you have lost.

Improving self talk will improve communication with others

It could be he was a scammer

It could be his past experiences had left him scared and hidding behind txting shielding him from unhealthy attachment too soon.

It could be that formulated rules don't take relevant facts into account.
