We had gone to my Dad's for Christmas.
Huge family, everybody was there. We got there first and went to sit in the living room. There was a camera on a tripod, just waiting to be turned on. My ex went over to it, turned it towards me on the couch, and pretended to be filming.. It went rather like this: "So what do you think of your new brother-in-law?" "Pompous little ***, they call him 'The Little General' at work when he barks orders like the boss..his head is so far up my Dad's behind his eyes turned brown.." "And what about your sister who is married to him?" "Desperate people find each other, OMG their kids will be so ugly.." and on and on. You guessed it, after dinner, my Dad says, "Let's watch everyone come in for Christmas," turns on the camera, and there I am, right off the bat, dissing everyone who has yet to show up. You never saw a redder face. It was 40 years ago, but I am pretty sure everyone remembers it :-( |
