Is the wall meant also to keep drugs from mexico off American soil? If it is,then Americans themselves who use them need to be reoriented because there is supply only because demand exists.  I think that if drug smugglers want to get in they will - I don't think a wall is going to do much good. I remember reading reports of underground tunnels that went on for miles. If there's alot of money to be made, they'll find a way to get in money is a powerful motivator. |

the wall will do little to stop drugs... supply and demand. will always find a way in.
But the wall will allow the border guards to concentrate more on tunnels and other means of entry.. narrow the field down a bit. but it will not totally stop drugs from entering |

TxGal3333, Hey my loyal vocal avenger, what you post is right on the money, let me ask you this? Do you think that wall really going to keep illegals from getting into this country? If we think that's the answer. Okay lets just say this works then we have to look at the shorelines of Florida. The Cubans & the Haitians floating on tires in the middle of the Atlantic ocean coming here. what about the Canadian border? Nothing will totally stop illegals/Drugs from getting into the US. It will in fact slow them way down therefore costing them more to find ways to get here... Which will give the border patrol more free time to find how they get in... It will in fact stop a lot of crime that normally comes with those crossing the border. Those that live on the border are the ones that many need to listen too.. Many ranchers are finding bodies of those that have died or been killed while crossing.. Women that are being raped as they cross.. and even children being killed.. And I'm talking about the Mexican's that are coming across.. As well as those Ranchers that are dealing with the issues of illegals crossing on their land... And having to deal with criminal activity on a daily bases... Not sure why Canada keeps coming up they in fact have Laws on illegals and we are not having the issues with Canada as we are with the Mexican border.. What many are not even looking at if Mexicans can cross so easily what would keep our Allies from using the same Border in order to come in with the intentions of killing those that are here.. What is sad it will take something like that in order for more to wake up and see that we have a issue.. As I said prior not sure if the wall is feasible or not. But we defiantly need to consider a solution for all those coming in illegal... As I said why is it not considered that all Countries have Laws as far as coming into their country. Why is it that many do not feel we need it here.. The way I see it give all those a chance that has been here at least 5 years working in the states and let them fill out the paper work to become legal the right way... Plus all those that send money back to Mexico or any Country put a $5- $10 transaction fee on it that goes to the government in order to go towards helping pay for the safety of our borders.... This is nothing new it has been done several times in the past even with Obama.. Problem is they start with this and just stop once everyone shuts up cause they think the situation is being handled... Instead they just do this as a band aid and then don't carry out with what they said they was going to.. The System is overloaded with those that are illegal from welfare to the hospitals. Why do we give those that come over money to start a life with yet we have children that go hunger and lots of homeless ... Does that make sense to anyone... |

there are laws and security already in place ,besides patrols even, that has already been working but every election , the campaigns ring the 'danger , will robinson, danger' alarm and they get the population all chicken littled,,,, more and more of our 'terrorism' is home grown, the internet is much more a danger than a border,,,, |

I totally agree, it won't necessarily stop illegals. I think it a out in the open profile Mexicans and even Middle Eastern Muslims. Next they want to wall Arabian Muslims, Caribbean & South Americans, then black people in America than last working class whites. nobody's safe with that ideal. Let's put ourselves in Mexican shoot. Okay, lets say we from Tiajuana, Mexico, I have a wife, 3 kids and we decided to move to the states. Now moving forward, I go thru the whole naturalization process and I am now a u.s. citizen. now, I decided to help my family move here and we get stopped at the border by border patrol. they want to see my green card but for some reason they don't believe me. then they target my family, questioned them and order them to return to México. OOOUUCCHHH this would hurt anybody. |

Drug cartels will always invent means to advance their trade because there is a huge demand for their products. It does seem to me that the high and mighty are also big consumers.  |
