I rarely have this "problem". People chatting with me while in the local bakery/coffee shop. I usually sit in my favorite place, by the front window, right next to the entrance door. I pretty much make eye contact with almost everyone who enters the door. Say hi or smile to men and women. I think I stay open to a conversation, even when they are leaving.

Wish I had you confidence level. My mom always worried about me being such a "wall flower" as a child. Seems when I do make contact with a smile or gesture, I totally loose track of what I was concentrating on at the moment and my frustration shows on my facial expression.

Netflix has a program regarding scammers and one episode took place in a coffee house a woman was his target, She got scammed for a few hundred thousand dollars. beware out there!

Actually not everyone the same if you decided to turn everyone down by not given them a chance who knows maybe one of are yours. Men are not to be turn down , you need just sit with them and listen to whatever they have to say.
