Russia probe pile-on: No fewer than 9 teams investigating collusion, meddling

The expansive investigation into Russian meddling and possible collusion with Trump associates has grown so vast that no fewer than nine congressional committees and federal agencies are now examining some offshoot of the controversy.

And despite the inquiries to date having produced no indictments or hard evidence of collusion between the president's men and a foreign power, even more officials and entities are looking to bite off a piece of the probe.

“The main problem is that after months and months of multiple investigations, no one has found any evidence of collusion,” a congressional source told Fox News. “So the Democrats are trying to shift the focus from collusion to obstruction, and since it doesn’t look like that will pan out for them either, they surely have some new accusation ready to put out there. It’s in their political interest to drag out these investigations as long as possible.”

Proponents of the probes warn nothing less than democracy is at stake

The plethora of probes has not only led to a never-ending news cycle in which some committee or department is questioning some witness or having some information leaked to the press, but the investigations have also battled for access to the same witnesses at times, never mind the same information.

“This is like watching an old-fashioned Western movie. This is an Indian hunting party,” Trump ally and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said on “Hannity” earlier this month. “They're out looking for a couple scalps, and they're not going to go home until they get some.”

Kinda reminds one of the Whitewater investigation, doesn't it? Remember how the Republicans went on, and on, and on, and on investigating, expanding the specifications of what they were looking for again and again, despite finding lots of expensive nothing? Remember how they NEVER EVER found anything that they started the investigation to find?

Of course, this situation is different in one way. Back then, there was absolutely no threat to the national security and sovereignty of the United States, it was just a witch-hunt for the sake of political revenge for Watergate.

But we already HAVE proof, from not just our own intelligence arms, but from the intelligence arms of a dozen other nations as well, that Russia is STILL actively intruding in everyone's business, with negative intent. Since I am an American patriot, I want to have something done about that. And since the President shows non interest in pursuing our national security, then hopefully the investigators in the Congress can.

I thought recently it was made known obama admin knew about Russian involvement to influence election and they did nothing.

USA politics is a farce many decades and the departments in DC suck bad. They literally suck the life out of everyone and retire well.

Well, that has been ALLEGED. Not confirmed. Obama had one month to act. Trump has had six so far, and still isn't even thinking about taking action.

Well, all of the claims about Trump has been ALLEGED.
Nothing has been confirmed or found in any of these. It's a witch hunt
that's back firing on them. I hope they keep it up, I'm looking for a

New information keeps coming out. No one on the Trump side of things has come completely clean yet, they just keep pretending as Trump Sr does, that this investigation is all a "witch hunt." That makes every NEW revelation look even worse.

And Trump is still openly lying about it all. He knows that his son's own emails, show that Trump Jr thought he was meeting with an official representative of the Russian Government. And went right ahead, and then lied about doing so later.

We have democratically voted and this is the answer, so, those who are happy dragging them down should take responsibility for dragging the country down. be a lot easier to think the people I voted for didn't get in this time but lets make the most of it!
