Learned all that a while back.
Totally agree, most men have no idea how to REALLY treat a LADY.
It is an art that was lost in the 60's & we need to find it again.
Our task to teach the youth CHIVALRY once more.

I think that is why I love movies from the late 50's and early 60's...Jimmy Stewart, Carey Grant, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Frank Sinatra, etc. What an incredible era where men were gentlemen and women were classy. What the he** happened?! Sigh.

Umm, why do you let her do all that stuff to begin with? Why not pick up after yourself, make the relationship an equal partnership, I'm sure she'd appreciate that a lot more than some sycophantic poem after she's wore her feet and back out.

I'm perfectly capable of cleaning up after myself, doing my own laundry, cooking my own meals, and taking care of my own life. I'm not trying to be with a woman so that they can do these things for me, I'm trying to be with a woman because I like her company and she makes me happy, nothing more expected. The last woman to do all these things for me was momma, and she never expected anything in return, so if you want to thank someone, thank your mom first and foremost cause she was the first woman in your life.

I do like being "chivalrous" the whole opening doors, giving up the seat on the train, pulling out chairs etc. Back in the day men worked, and women stayed home, the relationship was a little more simple in a lot of ways. Now there's a multitude of different relationships like both working, woman working etc. It used to be men did all these "chivalrous" things, paid for all the dates etc and women sat at home and cleaned the home, cooked all the meals, did the dishes after etc.

Can't have it both ways. I fully expect my partner to pull her weight in a partnership, I fully expect the woman to expect me to pull my weight as well. As long as things are fair. Don't expect me to pay for everything, do all the "chivalrous stuff", be the only one working and also be the modern day sensitive man who helps with dinner and laundry.

I was raised by a single mother, and grew up around strong independant women, I think that's the main reason I have so much apperication for women, I learned at a young age that they don't need a man for ANYTHING. Woman can do ANYTHING imaginable and beyond, and they do on a daily basis.

Yes single mothers are an amazing breed. So are single fathers. We men can do anything as well, don't sell yourself short. Women are amazing, men are amazing, and when we get together and work together well that's when I think we're functioning on all cylinders.

That is all true but it seems that when we try to show appreciation women walk all over us(at least me). I was raised by the older generation and was instilled with the sense of showing women appreciation yet it gets me no where. Could it possibly be that the women have changed as well as men?
