the topic is not the absence of 'nasty things'

it is healing from the 'nasty things'

EyeAmYourHost39,

See this is what's all about talking, getting one's point of view, agree to disagree. See one thing about my loyal followers of my cyber mansion they will go viper, sometimes draw the line in the sand. Either its this or that no middle man, no surrender no retreat. I love that. Well one thing we all can conclude that there will always be hate groups. There will always be political wars among the Dem's, The Reps, & us Lib's. what I'm start after taking in all the feedback I'm do a EyeAm's Final Thought.

EyeAm's Final Thought
So I give my final thought as Americans we have a lot of work to do. We far from the 60's civil right era racism but we not at utopia yet. All we can do is love our children, teach them about the many flavors of this world and move forward.

we all see fairness through our own eyes, not everyones values are the same...blacks, whites, asians, latinos, they all see whats fair in a slightly different way...

Often a leader doesn't get his hands dirty, it's a well known fact, depends on how you look at it, the dreamy eyed rights people will see what they want rather than how it is.
And his wife winnie carried on for him whilst he was in prison!

who was he the leader of that he invoked to use violence? my understanding is that it was his christian upbringing and vocalizations for non violent measures EXCEPT in self defense that caused him to be incarcerated ,,,,

I have no troubles with seeing humans as they 'are', complex and constantly changing as they have new experiences and live longer,,,,

True, but then you get into a race division. Black Christians v white Christians. yes, it was the white who introduced Christianity to them wasn't it?
But if you go by what's being said now that there is no excuse for violence. you could label any opposition group as "terrorists "I guess
As if a label makes it any better.
I guess what the British did in Africa could be compared with settlers of America? Question?

I don't really see the racial element to Christianity but where perception about theft of land or oppression and murder for the power over land already occupied is concerned

or course it could

It definitely had a race division in the early days,
And wasn't that how America was formed? By the theft of land from the natives?

Race was created after the biblical books were written. So christianity, or following christ, has no racial element.

People have chosen to segregate and determine how to treat others according to their race since that time, but

yes, America was 'formed' by doing alot of nasty things to other people.

To be honest ms, I've not read it. But I'm certain they had slavery in those times? So race would have played a part in that don't you think?

not really, their slavery was not based upon any concept of 'race' because the concept was not created

their slavery was not based in a concept that had not yet been created, but more like that of paying off debts or crimes or being prisoners of war,,,,

I disagree, I've seen "life of Brian "and they definitely had black slaves! The Romans had them and so did most other powers

lol, you are funny

people were not enslaved for being 'black' because 'black' had yet to be created as a concept of identifying people,,,

It is different times EyeAm. I could make a whole other discussion about the breakdown of family, and without strong family everything else falls apart.

I mention family here because when we were growing up, we were told to treat other people the way we would want to be treated OR the way we would want other people to treat someone we love.

But people are so much more disconnected and self absorbed, I am not sure that type of 'logic' would work. So many people really would not even care how you treat the people they claim to 'love' as long as they are doing well themselves. And other people already feel so desperate and detached that they are contented to suffer through whatever because they feel they 'deserve' it or that its inevitable.

The compass of basic 'decency' seems to have become more and more a thing of the past.

Have you seen the movie? "Life of Brian " by monty pythons. British and a sense of humour you may struggle with!
They enslaved people because of their status, poor, and lesser thought of.

I read an article (don't know hoe true it is) saying that a lot of soldiers were buried without grave markers, etc and were forgotten. Some group raised money (back in the day) and put up these monuments as a general grave marker to those who died.

I do think a lot of this is getting way out of hand
