It's the season where most of us have that feeling of melancholy .. a feeling of emptiness...sadness..

What would you do - naturally ?

Here we call it "SAD" seasonal affected disorder, I think. Usually a bit later in the year when there is less light.

Personally I don't get affected by this, or not that I know of.
It pays to try keep busy, try socialising more and think of the new spring after the dark days.

You're right, socializing..is the key..
I understand the terminology..Thank you, I think it's just a one of those moments in life...we all been there once or twice.. thanks again.

Your welcome. Also personally I think depression in mild forms can be confused with boredom and loneliness in some cases, not at all real depression, it's an evil illness for those who suffer.

I exercise a lot and eat a lot .. ha

I spend 6-7 hours a week in the gym or run outside when the weather is permit .

I eat my favorite food whenever I want without worrying my weights .

The two extremes above ensure the quality of sleep . You know the good sleep can change a person ... ha

I sometimes worry too much about gaining one lbs or two , overall , I am happy with what I have .

In addition , I have stopped dating since I have found being alone is the better way to contain the happiness within.

I focus on whatever I do , such as my job . Also I challenge myself by reading the old English .

A lot pressure / stress is good . Too much is not necessary . This is my life slogan .

You are beautiful,Lu!Not everyone can be as pretty as you . for this you should be cheerful already !

Talking therapy is very beneficial. It's good to tell someone one's heart and unburden the self.

Thank you so much Gentle soul. You're right :)

Signs of being depressed...

Holding revolver with one bullet in chamber.. up to my head after spinning cartridge chamber... much like a roulette wheel.. then squeezing trigger.. on the hopes that today' is my lucky day..
But usually I can hear and feel the click of the hammer and nothing follows...fml.. maybe I'll have better luck tomorrow..

I don't know whether to do an intervention or ask him to tape a video for my snuff film...

Or just tell him not be so stupid and fill all of the cartridge laugh

But that would take all the fun out of it...

Oh. Yes I guess it would. laugh

- Sometimes the appropriate response to reality is to go insane.

- I told my psychiatrist that everyone hates me. He said I was being ridiculous - everyone hasn’t met me yet.

- Before you diagnose yourself with depression or low self-esteem, first make sure that you are not, in fact, just surrounding yourself with A$*****$.

Wimp talk! You people need to harden up. Lock yourselves away and think about death.

I get the feeling of emptiness and sadness every year during the holidays. With mom and dad both gone and my son grown and out on his own the emptiness and sadness really kick in. Friends help but they just can't fill that void. It just isn't the same anymore around holiday time.

Fills the bathtub full of water.. gets in it well holding a plugged in hair dryer..
Just holding it above the water line..
Wondering just wondering... how depressed am I..hmmmm... right then the doorbell rings... darn it I forgot I ordered pizza.... maybe tomorrow maybe tomorrow I'll have the courage.. to let go of the hair dryer... but right now I'm not letting a good pizza go to waste...lol

We care about you. We are all in the same boat here on Mingle, so we all have some common experience, and we may all be different but it is enriching to hear about each other’s lives. Communication is part of our social being, like another sense like sight and hearing, and it helps us all to take mind off of our selves. You make the forums interesting and real. The purpose of life is mysterious, but despair and self murder is evil. Julien Baker sang some remarkable songs about the topic, they are on YouTube.
