Lol, in all seriousness Max and Stu, if a man were to do either of those things when picking me up for a date, I would probably run for the hills. Especially early on. Now after a month or two....by all means, just not every time, that would be over kill

Hand shakes are definitely out....way too business/friend zone like.

A kiss on the hand or cheek, or something simple like a nice smile and words, for me, are nice ways for a date to greet me.

How about a hug?.. I was just being a goof.. although I'll still feed you grapes..lol

usually it's a handshake and a peck on the cheek. But it's always wait and see how it feels. I've had a guy try to kiss me on the lips instead of on the cheek. I was not thrilled.
The man in my life told me if he was going to drive a long way to meet me he wanted a kiss (peck) and a cuddle. I thought it funny and he got that too when we met. It felt okay based on the dynamic of our online conversations before meeting.
So it depends on how things go, the vibe, body language.
Normal is the handshake and peck on the cheek.
