Spiritual

In selecting a partner, I want someone who believes in the same God that I am believing, who knows him and who has a strong faith in him.. I want to make God as the center of our relationship... I believe that without him all else will fail :blush::blush:
how sad... Setting yourself up for failure before it even starts... You should believe in yourself first...that's something real

This is what I always remember: without God, I am nothing.. I've been through a lot of things but thanks to him.. I was able to survive :blush::blush: I am who I am because of him

Sometimes, things fail because we rely on our own strength.. things are so much better if God is included

From a Filipina to another sweet and sensitive Filipina.... thanks so much Angel for understanding. I do think our culture here has something to do with our own connection lolflowers I was just bored last night and didn’t have patience to look for a mind stimulating topic that’s why I posted this slaphead I was not even thinking about love but just remembered the book I read before during my period of freedom from a failed marriage. frustrated I know love is never enough to sustain a long and lasting relationship  I hope the luck guy will find you soon and appreciate you for the lovely person that you are flowerforyou

Thank you Sis.. that's what I am also hoping but if ever that one day I find that guy, I will be luckier.. kinda picky and careful :blush::blush: I know he will be nice...

You too, you're nice :blush::blush: I am sure that one day you will meet a guy who's deserving of your love.. who will truly love you just the way you are and who won't leave you when challenges/ trials come. God bless! flowers

Thanks angel flowers

Emotional connection

I googled it and I think it can be a major thing to hold a relationship. When one empathises and truly love, the person would put his own feelings aside specially as if it is different from the other person in order to fully understand him/her. An emotional connection is both the act and the feeling that each person has a sense of belonging and acceptance. So for me if an emotional connection is present all the other factors will just follow. A smart and sensitive conversation, a simultaneous rush of feeling just by looking into each other’s eyes and a common ground of faith. No difference is impossible to work on....no feelings ignored but celebrated at the end of every struggle

All of those are top choices, except physical less important!

It is a reality in life that we don’t always get what we want. So if we desire to have a connection with a future partner what would be the top choice? Physical, spiritual, emotional or intellectual and why? I may have left some other kind of connection too , feel free to add please.

Haven't a clue Sis, right about now any kind of connection would be nice ohwell

Considering my past relationships though, I would say emotional and spiritual equally because those are the two that seemed to be lacking in my relationships.

we fail because we aren't perfect, has nothing to do with god.. failures are teachers, we need to fail to learn... I was always told god gives everyone a choice, do you think god would be "mad" at you if you believed in yourself first? If so, you're going to the wrong Church...

We need to fail in order to learn? I hope that would not always be the case. Our belief in God does come from our belief of ourselves, of who we are and what we are and yes HE gives us the choice of what we want to be. You are right though that we have to know ourselves first, our flaws and imperfections and accept it. What mostly matters is what we think of ourselves then if other people see us otherwise then there is really no connection. IMO

I just recently realised that there is actually a level of connection that we have with everyone. It could sometimes be deep but fleeting or long but shallow. Those that does not last were meant to be lessons and those that stayed are still with a purpose that hasn’t been achieved as such things do happen for a reason only unclear.

From my experiences and personal values, Id say the thing that would make the most binding impact upon a relationship, for me, is the spiritual and emotional connection, if we can be 'coming' from a similar place and perspective and seeking the same type of fulfillment, we are more likely to weather the storms and make it work.

Interesting question. My answer is probably less exciting than most. However if the goal is a lifetime then probably intellectual. Physical will change with passage of time and would make a poor foundation. Emotionally, differences are actually helpful if not necessary and spiritual requires an honest intellectual series of conversations to learn from each other and connect at a meaningful level. Having said that I suspect you could make an intelligent argument for any order. I would think though that boredom is the biggest thief of passion and easiest to keep at bay with an intellectually compatible partner.

If two people are intellectually connected but not emotionally sensitive to each other’s feelings I do think that no amount of knowledge can make the relationship last?
