I think it is all about measure. Sometimes if not almost all the time media can and will have a bad influence on humakind..i really like your statement ms.harmony. People should learn from you. You are a Good example of what a woman should be. Someone i Truly appreciate and learn from. Well i learn something New everyday from everyone be it outside the internet world or in here. Either way i am thankful.

The Media focus on what it wants to.. The Topics that keep viewers watching.... The best solution is turn it off and enjoy those you come in contact with and life...  I agree. I never watch the endless news loop on the television anymore. I like to be informed about major happenings, but get that by reading the top few feeds in my computer.

I like these shows on RT America ... and believe them ... on their info ... been watching for a long time now ... sure makes u cringe... when you watch all of their shows they have on RT ... they... thats right they...  are trying to get then banned from certain TV stations ... can't imagine why:: always have said believe or not ... your choice ... https://youtu.be/8wkkVUtKczk Yes, it is all about choice......I just love RT UK, unlike the BBC, it's above all entertaining! so great and very refreshing to finally finally get a second opinion on some very contentious world news issues!,and full length documentaries on climate change and finacial corruption, and truly educational stories that are simply not covered on any other uk outlet, all at a time when the BBC, scared of upsetting some pressure group or other, seems to have turned into a glorified local news and weather channel .......I am a million miles from being a socialist ,or even political in any way, and I don't agree with everything that's said on RT, but I'm glad to be treated like an adult with a brain of his own, one who can choose what I want to believe and what tv I want to watch.

I agree about 'rt' not saying Russia plays by the rules, but then if Russia made the rules would the west play by them, probably not. On a whole they don't 'cut and paste 'interviews so you do get the whole thing. sky news and the bbc are great at this. But, they are getting dizzy, one day they back, the next day they are against. The media is getting more and more like the unions of the 70's thinking they run the country. Thank god we didn't have the present day media in the 40's, the world would definitely be a different place! |

It's the modern day religion, a couple of thousand years ago a guy with a beard, no, not bin Laden, that was recently, he preached his view on the state of the world and everyone followed. Difference being is government and media don't have beards but they make shed loads of cash and have people following them! I agree that the media has way too much power in this country but I think that that is a reflection on our society rather than the media itself - If you look around you people in general are ruder, angrier more selfish and shallower than say 30 yrs ago. Unfortunately the media is a business and as such it's primary goal is to make money. There's a difference between the "media" and journalism. I think people need to remember that you can't believe everything the media says - you have to consider the source. Most people believe what they want to believe. The older I get the more I realize how many people are sheep. |

Before media and modern transportation the world was in greater chaos then it is now. You had massive ethnic cleansing (Attila the Hun), Persian, Greeks and Romans constantly at war. Just a very few examples. There are still many parts of the world that have little instant media and access and live a peaceful life relative to the constant stress we all have being bombarded by news story after news story. Everything in life is a balance, only you make your world what you want it to be by choosing what you watch, believe or do. |

We need to realize the "media" is in the business of selling us something. Between click bait headlines and analysis, there goal is to pander to the base of their viewers. The major TV networks are reasonably good at just reporting the news while most of the rest are all about appealing to their followers. High degree of biased coverage on all sides. If you really want to know the news, be very critical of who you watch or listen to.
