I've worked in shops where the heat and humidity was 98% and 140F. I live in PA and NY where the bitter cold was -14f for weeks at a time. Of the two extremes, I'll take cold over hot anytime. You can always put more clothes on to get warm but there is a limit to how many you can take off to get cool. Last year the heat index here got to 138f with 96% humidity. If it were not for my a/c, I would NOT be living here. You can cook a steak on the dashboard of your car. Its been so hot that you can't walk on the sand at the beach without protective footwear.

When I lived in Missouri I actually saw the local weatherman say to expect a 50% chance of rain. That's like saying "It might rain or might not".
