Hummm hard to say when in the States we don't have arranged marriages~~~

Unless it's a shotgun wedding.

Well, most are not but you might be surprised.
The USA is a melting pot of cultures. (Chinatown, Irish sector, ect..)

Plus, we can't underestimate the influence parents have concerning their children's choices in marriage.

"You marry that girl I'll cut off your inheritence"
"You marry that boy I'll disown you."

It happens more often than you might think.
It also happens in more subtle ways thru attitude changes.

Meeting the parents is an important part of marriage acceptance.
Shooting down a child's potential mates until they choose one that is approved is also marriage arranging.

Lol I would never do arranged marriage. I dictate my life and choices...good and bad

It's a culture thing. Some beliefs believe in it and push it but not necessarily supported by law

Hello, hello, earth to arranged marriage followers.
This is the 21st century not dinosaurs century. it's about time you lived in the real world and not from some controlling myths passed down through thousands of years! Same with covering up faces, if the guys weren't so insecure and spent time working and building societies that don't leave people begging in the gutter then you'd have a better life!
Oh, and relying on billions of dollars from the west!

Some of my history books says that most royals in Europe once only did arranged marriage and had to have blessings from vatican.. Agree that not all adhered and many revolted too to lay down the modern era concepts . So yes arranged marriage was culture for many in past and some still hang on to it.

With respect to begging, never seen any, but if I know such streets, then it is good for me to keep away, as I do not like and therefore keep away from the nasty sights..
Never kept the finger in my pooh but have it regularly, just flush that begging away.. Gutters exists where there are no address for social benefits office in town. Never claimed any social benefits either. Wealth, power, beauty, health, clouds are always in transition state, they never last for ever. Some are cyclic, will go and come back, but not beauty, life or age. They just go awa y. So let us just enjoy it all while we have it before we have to start begging help from Viagra :-)

And lol! Covering the face is as good as blocking some one on social media or hiding your updates, last seen and to avoid those stalking faces, drooling eyes in the street full of man.
