What would you say it is?

I grew up listening to musicals... it's an acquired taste perhaps. But for those who have the taste, what's your fav?

Juliet, it looks like there are few musical buffs here for you, and I only spoke in jest, sorry. But you could educate us as to what are good musicals, not just well known ones. Does Madam Butterfly count, I think it is opera, I'm no sophisto. Generally as soon as a heap of people start singing about what they are doing, I turn off and change the channel. Even Simpsons musicals turn me off.
Maybe it is because I was hammered with Mary Poppins and Chitty bang bang and similar stuff when I was a kid. smile2

I can relate laugh I don't really watch many of them - full. I just pick select scenes to watch; except Sound of Music, ofcourse.

But oopsies, I'm lazy to google. Don't know really the difference between musicals, opera, broadway ohwell But I appreciate them all.

For those who like musicals (and I hope these ones really are musicals?) you might enjoy or have already enjoyed these:

* Fiddler on the Roof

* Master of the House

These men... really very good and HIGHLY entertaining! I've listened and watched countless of times esp. Fiddler's.

Well with all art I think what makes the difference between 'good' and 'bad' is that what makes you feel something. So, if a musical makes you feel something it's good! (for real) If it doesn't, it's fallen short.

The very first two my Aunt took me to will always be my favorite...

"Sound of Music" and "Fiddler on the Roof"... it was a double feature movie event.

I like a lot of the classic ones.

The Nut Cracker.
The ballet presentation was so beautiful and made me dream away.
It was directed by Mikhael Venshikov.
The ballet of Sint-Petersburg was astonishingly skilled.
