I was just offered a great job with a potential of making between $70,000 and $90,000 a year. The catch is moving to Miami from Carson City, Nevada (by Reno). I need to decide this week.

I have never traveled further then Nashville and of course my social anxiety wont help. I will be working for one of the MAJOR cruise lines.

Does any of my Mingle family live down there? The campus is in Miramar, apparently that is 30 minutes from Miami.

Definitely could use some advice and help.

You will love Florida! I moved here about 30 years ago and have no regrets. Not particularly fond of the Miami area but there are some really nice places just north or south of there.
You may find that you will get into things like salt water fishing, jet skiing, boating, scuba etc etc that you really can't do in Nevada(spent some time there too).
We also have casinos if your into that LOL.

Your coworkers will form the most immediate, local social group. Ask early on whether they do things like go out for drinks, might be a simple way to break into the local nightlife.

Unless the job involves turning up at the docks around midnight, wearing a dark hoodie in a pickup truck and wait for someone to flash their lights and you're asking for advice about that. And it sounds fishy dude.

Thanks, I am not a gambler. I mean I will occasionally play blackjack a couple times a year but that it.

No, I would be a travel agent working for a major cruise line. My issue is I try not to hang out with co workers because one little thing and it goes around the whole office.

Whats the cost of living out there? It would be nice to make some friends before I move there. Someone said to look at Hollywood.

What do you do that you don't want people you happen to work with to know about?
Or you're just saying you should be an enigma to coworkers? Like a rockstar.

People are just people dude, and you should be the person you're proud of if you've a social anxiety thing. Pidgeon-holing others turns you into the marionette.
