You still don't seem to understand what I am saying. For example:

Well I take exception to the characterization of capitalism ignoring whether a product or service is wise for the people.

Capitalism is just a system where market economies thrives or fails.

In those two statements, you first deny, and then exactly support what I said.

You do the same again here:

The problem is bad news , tragedies, scandals generally captures the attention of the audience more than good news and feel good stories which rarely captures people's attention.

that isn't the fault of capitalism, its just the news outlets responding to what the public wants.

I disagree with your use of the word "fault" here, especially since I don't say it is capitalism's "fault" that what happens, happens. The "news outlets responding to what the public wants," IS CAPITALISM INCARNATE.

Capitalism is a MECHANISM. It is an artificial creation of whoever utilizes it, and it consists of whatever they decide it consists of.

Capitalism does not have a "wisdom component" to it, unless a people decide to insert one into it. No culture or nation I know of, does so, though a few occasionally try to do so on a case-by-case basis. This is why there are so many instances of short-term profits or savings being chosen over long term dangers and consequences.

Trump and the Republicans, just as the Democrats before them, have tried to cause American business people to make the choices that they wish, by manipulating the portions of the marketplace which they control. And just as happened to the Democrats, instead of making the political decisions that Trump and other Republicans said they hoped for, after taxes were lowered, and tariffs raised, business people instead made BUSINESS choices, for the sake of basic capitalism-based reasons. Just as they did when taxes were lowered under the Bush administrations. additional profits were not put in to raising wages or research into making better and cheaper products (in most cases), they were put in to stock buy- backs, and even into paying to build additional production facilities overseas, because, as basic capitalism dictates, that was the most profitable and productive thing to do with them.

You kind of do insinuate that Igor, just in a cleaver way, hence the capitalism incarnate comment.

Ive never said it did, the market decides that, and what you are describing is "cronyism"

Trump and the Republicans, just as the Democrats before them, have tried to cause American business people to make the choices that they wish, by manipulating the portions of the marketplace which they control. Sorry you are all over the place on this Igor.

What you are describing is cronyism, and cronyism has existed before the American revolution, during the American revolution, after the American revolution, during the gilded age, Pre World war one and two, during the economic boom of post world war 2, during the Reagan years and 90's dot com boom and it continues on today during Trump's reign.

This is not what basic capitalism dictates, there is a difference between Laissez faire and cronyism.

Off topic

just like there is a difference between Socialism, communism and Marxism.

In my opinion the media prints that which the owners want them to print..they sure aren't going to want to piss off the guy who writes the check..it's all about the benjamins and the truth be damned..for whatever reasons..

I think its hard to get away from spin or bias except by understanding how to read the FACTS from the opinions.

even independent sources, and non 'mainstream' are created by someone or some group with their own implicit biases that will impact how they report things.

Okay, since all you are doing now is naysaying, there's no point to my putting any more effort into getting you to read what I actually write, or to recognize that what you are saying is flat out false.

You clearly don't even know what cronyism is, and just rattle the word off to cover the fact that you refuse to read what I actually write.

Last try: mass media outlets and other businesses behave like businesses. They don't behave like religious institutions, because they aren't religious institutions.

Expecting a business NOT to behave like a business, just because your politics or personal wishes are a certain way, is illogical. Nonsensical. But that is what Trump, and the Republicans, and the Democrats keep doing.

And you are doing it as well, and simply spouting random words and phrases which you clearly aren't using accurately, in order to deny that this is what you are doing.

no Igor, Ive asked you for clarification, like who is THEY?
If I dont agree with you am I supposed to sit idly by and say nothing?

This is the point of debating Igor, if you believe I'm wrong challenge me , just like Im challenging you.

You clearly don't even know what cronyism is, and just rattle the word off to cover the fact that you refuse to read what I actually write.

You're starting off by poisoning the well by saying I dont know what "cronyism" is and not backing it up isn't making your case Igor, If you disagree with me that is fine just point out where I'm wrong and If I am and more than glad to learn from it as I have no ego.

Okay, except where have I said they dont? and what do you mean by behaving like Religious institutions?

hence your cronyism and capitalism incarnate comment.

Maybe you should define what you think Cronyism and capitalism is Igor, I have a feeling this is where we differ.
