Where the investigations related to President Trump stand

"WASHINGTON (AP) — Where the investigations related to President Donald Trump stand and what may lie ahead for him:

WHAT’S THIS ALL ABOUT?

Special counsel Robert Mueller is looking into whether the Trump campaign coordinated with Russia and whether the president obstructed the investigation. Trump also plays a central role in a separate case in New York, where prosecutors have implicated him in a crime. They say Trump directed his personal lawyer Michael Cohen to make illegal hush-money payments to two women as a way to quash potential sex scandals during the campaign. New York prosecutors also are looking into Trump’s inaugural fund.

Congressional investigations also are swirling around the president. Democrats have launched a sweeping probe of Trump, an aggressive investigation that threatens to shadow the president through the 2020 election season".

http://www.apnews.com/63524ee31b584ce1987f47745079d7fc

Nobody knows where that investigation stands because Mueller is silent (never shows his hand, never allows leaks) he is methodical (leaves no stone unturned) and he's a master chess player, methodically corners his man. Mueller isn't done, not by a long shot and he hasn't even started bringing down the big dogs yet. Remember people, half of all future indictments (possibly 90% of them) have been farmed out (by Mueller) to the Southern District of New York where Trump has zero pardoning powers. Did you ever wonder why? So be patient, the train is coming.

What we do know that has gotten out,

Good to see our government checks & balances are finally working by leaders who follow the law.
He should be using this time to negotiate a resignation, maybe no charges for Junior and Princess before he gets railed and ruined by prosecutors. It ain't the Tower and You’re not an Untouchable.

Political God. Mob Mentality and crime don’t Belong in the Oval Office. Co-conspirators will be sorted through the vote, attrition, and history in short order.

Pelosi: 'Not worth it' to impeach Trump

"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that barring “overwhelming” new evidence she would not pursue impeachment against President Trump because it would be too divisive and “he’s just not worth it.”

“I’m not for impeachment,” said Pelosi in an interview with the Washington Post published Monday. “This is news. I’m going to give you some news right now because I haven’t said this to any press person before. But since you asked, and I’ve been thinking about this: Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don’t think we should go down that path, because it divides the country. And he’s just not worth it".

Well, Maybe the Senate majority is part of the party of traitors that would rather advance destructive policy over protect America.

There is so much evidence of collusion it’s insane how any low IQ individuals believe rhetoric over evidence.

They Impeached Clinton and he had plenty of followers. It did not divide the Country because at one-time people cared more about the Country than the party.

I'll go ahead and post this even though there are many contradictions to it. Not sure that I believe it. This doesn’t jibe at all with the other poll mentioned here that says 62% think the release of Mueller’s report is important!

Poll: half of Americans see Trump victim of witch hunt

"Washington (AFP) - Half of Americans believe President Donald Trump is the victim of a political "witch hunt," nearly two years after the launch of the Russia meddling investigation, a new poll showed Monday".

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2019/03/18/trust-mueller-investigation-falls-half-americans-say-trump-victim-witch-hunt/3194049002/

100% of Americans have no idea what's in the report but 50% think they do.

One contradiction,

Poll Shows Half of Americans Support Impeachment Against Trump

"61 percent believe president broke law with 2016 hush payments to women "

http://www.rollcall.com/news/politics/half-of-americans-support-impeachment-process-against-trump

An even larger contradiction.

Or so far it exposed the following:

1) George Papadopoulos, former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser, was arrested in July 2017 and pleaded guilty in October 2017 to making false statements to the FBI. He got a 14-day sentence.

2) Paul Manafort, Trump’s former campaign chair, was indicted on a total of 25 different counts by Mueller’s team, related mainly to his past work for Ukrainian politicians and his finances. He had two trials scheduled, and the first ended in a conviction on eight counts of financial crimes. To avert the second trial, Manafort struck a plea deal with Mueller in September 2018 (though Mueller’s team said in November that he breached that agreement by lying to them).

3) Rick Gates, a former Trump campaign aide, and Manafort’s longtime junior business partner was indicted on similar charges to Manafort. But in February 2018 he agreed to a plea deal with Mueller’s team, pleading guilty to just one false statement charge and one conspiracy charge.

4) Michael Flynn, Trump’s former national security adviser, pleaded guilty in December 2017 to making false statements to the FBI.

5-20) 13 Russian nationals and three Russian companies were indicted on conspiracy charges, with some also being accused of identity theft. The charges related to a Russian propaganda effort designed to interfere with the 2016 campaign. The companies involved are the Internet Research Agency, often described as a “Russian troll farm,” and two other companies that helped finance it. The Russian nationals indicted include 12 of the agency’s employees and its alleged financier, Yevgeny Prigozhin.

21) Richard Pinedo: This California man pleaded guilty to an identity theft charge in connection with the Russian indictments, and has agreed to cooperate with Mueller. He was sentenced to 6 months in prison and 6 months of home detention in October 2018.

22) Alex van der Zwaan: This London lawyer pleaded guilty to making false statements to the FBI about his contacts with Rick Gates and another unnamed person based in Ukraine. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail and has completed his sentence.

23) Konstantin Kilimnik: This longtime business associate of Manafort and Gates, who are currently based in Russia, was charged alongside Manafort with attempting to obstruct justice by tampering with witnesses in Manafort’s pending case last year.

24-35) 12 Russian GRU officers: These officers of Russia’s military intelligence service were charged with crimes related to the hacking and leaking of leading Democrats’ emails in 2016.

36) Michael Cohen: In August 2018, Trump’s former lawyer pleaded guilty to 8 counts — tax and bank charges, related to his finances and taxi business, and campaign finance violations — related to hush money payments to women who alleged affairs with Donald Trump, as part of a separate investigation in New York (that Mueller had handed off). But in November, he made a plea deal with Mueller too, for lying to Congress about efforts to build a Trump Tower in Moscow.

37) Roger Stone: In January 2019, Mueller indicted longtime Trump adviser Roger Stone on 7 counts. He accused Stone of lying to the House Intelligence Committee about his efforts to get in touch with WikiLeaks during the campaign and tampering with a witness who could have debunked his story.

Finally, there is one other person Mueller initially investigated but handed over to others in the Justice Department to charge: Sam Patten. This Republican operative and lobbyist pleaded guilty to not registering as a foreign agent with his work for Ukrainian political bigwigs, and agreed to cooperate with the government.

What I am more concerned with is not whether Trump conspired with Russia before the election I want to know if he has been conspiring with them since his inauguration. All the other stuff: violation of the emolument clause, obstruction of justice, threatening violence, violation of his oath of office, violation of Article I of the Constitution, not to mention the total lack of transparency.......of all these he is guilty. Anyone who thinks otherwise has been living in a bubble, devoid of anything from the outside world.

Instead of railing about it to a dead guy--why doesn't the sitting president talk to us--the living-- and tell us (the living) why all the lies about Russian meetings, all the walk backs, the 3 and 4 differing versions of events? The truth just isn't that hard, you guys? Why all the subterfuge? You act like we just don't have a clue. 8,000 lies or not, we the common sensed middle want answers. We are ready to vote.

Everyone in Trump's orbit is either in prison or will be soon. Also, the evidence is still classified, because it's an on-going investigation. You don't reveal your evidence until it's over. Republican-traitors can claim there's no evidence all they want, but that is not the FACTS.

I have to say I disagree Ms.H..You see borders to countries and front doors to houses are quite the same..there is a PROPER way to enter them both..Like those who want to enter without knocking ..how different would you feel if someone was to just beat down your door and shove their way pass you and enter simply because they felt they had a right to..And as those who climb the fence rather than enter through the ports of entry ..How should one feel if someone was to come climbing through the windows instead of knocking at the door and showing RESPECT to those who live there..and enter PROPERLY.. LEGALLY

You see they are quite the same, houses and countries have ports of entry that should be entered PROPERLY..LEGALLY..if not then you have NO RIGHT to be there..GET OUT..BUILD THE WALL..and DEPORT those who are here ILLEGALY..spock

Once Again...let the rich in California and New York City take the caravan people into their own homes. Let them sleep in rich folks beds, and rummage through the fridge and cupboards. Hmmmmm what would "they" look like in a sequined dress or tight leather jeans. Heck, some of the caravan is already dressed in stylish clothes that someone has bought for them. Let the mouthy Dems hire a translator and by all means, let the illegals drive your car(s). they can come up with a fake ID, so give them your car keys. Ask your rich attorney to put the VICTIMS of any accidents in jail in NYC or California...you know the caravan folks meant to put on the brake, not step on the gas. I could go on...but you get the picture. I don't want them in my town, my school, my house or my yard. I worked and supported my family -- if you want illegals here, YOU support them, don't use my tax dollars. And do not hire them to kill any of our politicians, dems or reps. The title of this topic borders on treason, no matter how you look at it. Enuf Said.

There already are proper ways to enter the border. There are proper ways to enter a home. There are not doors around the ENTIRE perimeter of a home because it makes no practical sense financially. There are also not gates around EVERY community for the same reason. With thousands of miles of border, there are also places it makes sense to have a 'door' or 'gate', instead of around ALL of it.

Also homes are PRIVATELY owned by someone privately responsible, unlike the thousands of miles of border, on lands that are owned not only by taxpayers, but by individual owners. It is a simple and unrealistic comparison.

Problem with most of the 'my country' 'my town' 'my city' statements, is unlike 'my home' it assumes singular individual ownership instead of a place with MANY individuals of different opinions and desires for 'their' taxes. If only each taxpayer got to send their individually marked bills where they want, but that is not how the tax pool works.

And no, in no universe does explaining what is in our CONSTITUTION treasonous.

AgDay, Tuesday, 19 March 2019. In a New Jersey port a boat load of 1 million pounds of Chinese pork was caught illegally coming into the USA. The reason this is such an issue is that African Swine Flu has devastated the Chinese pork industry. This much pork is not a small amount and questions remain about the Chinese governments involvement. Had this entered the USA the American pork industry would have been devastated for years to come.

... and people are so upset with President Trump defending our country and market places.

what does the former have to do with the latter?

ports are legal points of entry with regulations and monitoring already. This example actually shows protections as they already were before Trump.

is it too late to involve former CIA professionals? clearly Mueller /FBI are out of their depth.

By the way, for a business entity, Google's grown too powerful.
Warren promises to take care of this.

Former Sen. John McCain's role in Trump dossier intrigue detailed in deposition

I might not have agreed with a lot of Mcain's policies, But he would have made 10 times the president that Trump ever will. I believe if he had made president, he would have been a president all of American could be proud of.

I believe that John Mcain saw Trump for what he really is. And that is why Trump continues to attack a dead man.

sorry on this point. while today we may agree that US had no business in Vietnam ..

As per McCain's own admission he heard the whoosh of his aircraft missile going off before the two planes ahead of him exploded.

The cover up that it was due to surge current unlocking / releasing the missile does not hold cause there are multiple locks for just such 'system accidents'.
particularly since missiles can optionally carry nuclear war heads.

only manual override is possible.

what i cannot understand is how in a country where citizens can own guns, the public can be so dumb.

all in all, keep it going Charles.

still scent isn't enough, the Hounds need to sight the fox

Trump: Mueller report 'ridiculous' but should be released

"WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he believes special counsel Robert Mueller's report should be released to the public, even as he disparaged its very existence as "ridiculous."

"Let it come out, let people see it," Trump told reporters as he left the White House on Wednesday for a trip to Ohio. "Let's see whether or not it's legit."

Mueller is expected to present a report to the Justice Department any day now outlining the findings of his nearly two-year investigation into Russian election meddling, possible collusion with Trump campaign officials and possible obstruction of justice by Trump".

Despite the president’s assurances to the contrary, Donald Trump ordered his former chief of staff John Kelly to grant his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and his daughter Ivanka Trump, a top-level security clearance, overruling security officials and top career veterans.
Kelly, who was ousted from his White House role in December, detailed the order in a contemporaneous memo written in May of last year, as did the White House counsel at the time, Don McGahn.
[The GOP just sits there allowing Trump to strip the security clearances of top Generals who have worked for the Government and in Washington DC for decades, etc.etc. while allowing Trump to go over the heads of the highest officials who denied security clearances to Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner.

Well, weren't Jr and Nunes talking about how EVERYTHING in the Mueller investigation should be made public? IF they truly believe in this openness then it calls into question the endless denials, lies, and obstruction that we have seen for the last three years from the Trump and GOP. Why would the Trump family try so hard to derail investigations and prevent the release of materials that they say completely vindicate them? Given how well composed and rational the Trump's have been at dealing with the various scandals that have plagued their administration I would heartily encourage them to testify before Congress!

This is one thing that Trump makes sense about. Of course, he wants to keep it. If it hadn't been for the Electoral College he would have never made into office. It's not like he was really voted in by the people. The majority voted Democrat in 2016.

By Something over 3 million votes, the Democrats won in 2016. If they had gone by the popular vote, Trump would have lost by a landslide. It's really bad that a person running for president can actually lose, and still be president. And look at what an embarrassment we have in office because of it.

Without the Electoral College, our POTUS would be elected by the majority of the people representing a small portion of the country. I guess some of you think that would be fair. That would be a good time to find a way to divide the United States into 3 subgroups with their own legislative structure and President. There would be the Northeast, the 3 west coast states, and all of the rest of us. The only things the combined Congress and POTUS would be allowed to work on would be national defense and foreign policy.

Hitler ..that influences no one..really?..spock..

You have to keep the electoral college simply because the CORRUPT Dems rig everything else, which is why they want to get rid of it..
