They are no longer connected to POF. Only in name. They actually now belong to Match.com. Why they let them stay up, I have no idea anymore. All I know is they are not moderated anymore and are mostly trash. And have been for years.

Many of them are just like DH was. You can't post a serious thought on many of them. You can't have a different way of thinking either. If you don't mind being attacked and most times being talked to like a dog and treated worse, I guess they are OK. If you are the type that doesn't mind being on a thread with a bunch of sex perverts, it could be the place for you. If you have a problem respecting people, it might be the place for you.

POF gave up those forums for a reason. To much trash. And they didn't want the trash to bring down the whole site. The guy who used to own the forums, he looked at those forums as if they were full trash cans that needed emptying. Which was exactly what he did.

"Many of them are just like DH was. You can't post a serious thought on many of them. "

Yep...
I'm not into such behavior from grown-a** adults...

I see a lot of that behavior elsewhere too...and it's just bizarre...noway

You had to know where to post your serious thought on DH. Certain threads were good, if you blocked the obnoxious posters. That was the key to it. I stayed out of certain forums, because of the posters. I like a good argument. Some don't, and that's ok.

We're all different. If we come acrossed people we don't like, we ignore them. Forums are no different.

It's sad you feel that way.

I don't see it that way.
I don't really feel sad anymore because I had to accept this.
Now its just reality.

There are a lot of "Ifs" that could happen that could change my outlook but I'm not one to pipe dream about things I have no control over.
Its true there are women that don't mind health restrictions and that is one possiblility I haven't forgotten. Its my reason for maintaining profiles now. Ya just never know...

As for men in general not wanting chunky, sure there are. The way I see it, at 58 years old, I don't have the body I had in my 30s and I figure nobody really does so some chunkiness and sag is normal. Gray hair and wrinkles too.

I seek contentment in myself and will not hinge it on how someone else thinks of me. Ya either like me or ya don't. No worries here.

Seems like 99% of the women here on on the take is some way or another. That's about the only difference I've noticed.

Then you haven't spent a lot of time in the forums. Away from the forums you will find your share of fakes but in the forums the percentage of fakes is very very small.

The big difference I find is that I didn't find my best friend on another site. I found that person on Mingle2.

Some dating sites are geared for dating and relationships.

Mingle2 is a social mingle site.

Perfect answer! I'm thinking there are lots of people especially in my age bracket that have no desire to jump into dating.

I am sure there are a fair share of those in our age bracket that have no desire to jump into the dating scene. I am not one of those though. My desire is there but there is more to a friendship than dating. The ability to share with someone your most deepest thoughts, your dreams, your thoughts on any given subject. In other words someone who fills your heart with happiness that comes from something simple like asking how was your day. Someone who touches your heart in a way that means so much more than just physical. Mental stimulation is very rewarding and that is what I have found.

Yep.
There are a LOT of women in my age group who vehemnetly say they don't want a relationship/ marriage again.
They give various reason, all o which i cannot relate to.
(maybe I picked better partners, I dunno..I am a widow now)

For this reason i have no female friends IRL....I just can't hang/ deal with women who hate men/ have no use for men...

I too want to be partnered again..so many fun things to share...and even just the little mudane things...
Life is more fun with someone to share it with.
