What would you do, if you did 'click' with someone here?

If you found someone so similar to you, and your beliefs, wants, and requirements in this lifetime?

What are you prepared to do?

What would you 'give up'?

Really be honest with yourselves here, think about it, even if you have no desire, to find a partner, and then out of the blue, someone appears....what would you do?

What if they live across the country, or in a different country?

I am interested, not from an advice viewpoint, more as an opportunity for introspection, and understanding others.

Well, if they're enough like me then they won't be looking more than 50 miles away from home...lol, so I guess we'd just see what happened. I'd give up just about anything for the right person, but I'd have to know for SURE that they were right before I'd give up anything at all. I wouldn't say I'd move right now for anyone, b/c my family needs me here.

Well if I actually met someone like that, I'd definitely consider moving.

i've had pleasant exchanges and flirtations and "clicked" with some women on this site (you know who you are  ) but theyre all kinda far away so i really don't see the point in investing any further. if we had a chance to meet up due to other circumstances (one of us happens to be on vacation to visit the other's location for reasons other than meeting up) then it would be great to meet up for perhaps a fling or something. i wouldn't really give up anything.

To be totally honest, I would just take one day at a time. If things got really serious between us and turned out that we were planning on spending the rest of our lives together and that person lived far away we would both have to consider who would be losing more if they were the one who would be relocating.

I've traveled to some pretty far flung places over the last few years to meet people. I've also looked in their communities for employment, housing.. etc. Considering the root reason I've joined is to pass time, maybe make a friend or two, as opposed to finding "The One". Based on this.. I'd say I've been open to some pretty drastic lifestyle changes.

Today.. I'm still open to pretty much anything... Just a little more reserved, due to career commitments I have now, that I did not have over the previous ten years. Other then that, I live alone, have no kids, can literally pick up and throw my life in a truck, be someplace else a few thousand miles away in a matter of days. Provided I have good reason.

I learned a while ago, that for me... Where I live is not too important. I can find joy, peace.. pretty much anywhere. Those things come from within.

Relocating is not something I'd do at the drop of a hat though. Getting to that point takes time, familiarity, trust. Both with the individual that has me considering it, and with the place I am looking to go to. The only way I know how to do that is to make the time, drive a few miles, spend time on airplanes... sit in a few trains. etc...

without a 'real' relationship, there would unlikely be any real sacrifices.

True. With one disclaimer: Reality, or my reality can be what I make it.

Today I am going to the city I am moving to for the above mentioned career change. I have a meeting scheduled for this evening. While there, I'm hoping to spend some time with a young lady on this site over a cup of coffee. As with all things in life, I have no expectations... other then to enjoy my coffee and her company for a handful of moments. Maybe get some advice about where to look for a place to live... Anything beyond that is out of my control, as it should be.

It depends on what you've got going for you at home. There's no way I'd leave-family's too important. That's why I limit my searh paramaters. I'd never be that desperate.

If they were within state I would contemplate relocating. If they were too far away it might have to wait until after college. But if this person was somebody very special I might change my plans for them.
