I like them,

Saves me the time of scrolling down to read their profile, I can just go ahead & hit "NO".
Also should not be on anyone's profile whose age starts with the number 2 or higher. IMHO

At first, I didn't know what you were talking about. I thought about it and then remembered the young girls who use those. I don't understand it and don't like it.

To me this is a "dating" site (I guess)
Doctoring up you profile pic tells me off the bat, you're not serious.
Again, the World According to Bob. LOL

Never gave it a moment's thought until this second. Don't care. Although, I do tend to like women that are fun and whimsical, so it certainly wouldn't be a negative.

When I was a forum mod a couple of years ago, it was not acceptable to have the puppy or cat or any other animal face look as the main profile pic. But now I see them posting in the forums, so perhaps they changed the rules. what

Personally I don't like them specially on middle aged people. It is fun but not as main profile pic on a dating site.

Happy New Year Rosie,

Sorry, we took 2 power hits here and it knocked out internet(the Dark Ages)
I also agree w/Rosie, wouldn't mind as 2nd pic but not main profile.
Also like said, better than no pic (& the 20 yr old me would never have thought I say this next bit but...) better than all the nude pics.

Exactly, the 1 benefit is it speeds things up.
Don't have to scroll to a non-existent profile
Just click "NO"

They are still against the rules. We delete them as soon as we see them, and notify the users that they can not use them as primary pics.

But we only control the ones that show up in the forums, so you might find one otherwise that we never see.

Jesus, I knew everyone was a mod. They'll delete pictures with cats ears if they see them. But we have to go through a convulted system to report people with multiple profiles.

I want to put cats ears on all the mods and let them delete themselves, so we can discuss whatever we choose, with somebody other than a mod

^^^ laugh I understand, R2d2 waving

@Igor - congratulations in becoming a mod. waving

It would really be nice if we (the members of Mingle2 and forum posters) are made aware of the current forum moderators.

Happy New Year R2d2 and Igor happy drinks

I quit right before KLC did. It's not easy. I started right about the time the DH crowd showed up. I quit about 2 months in. Honestly, I don't have the temperament for it anymore. A lot of people here have got it made here and don't know it. I was a moderator on another site for several years. We didn't put up with half of what moderators put up with here. We were a lot tougher. I don't mean for it to sound like I'm putting Mingle down. Not that at all. All I mean, they allow more leeway here than other places would.

Anyway, it is a larger site with a whole lot more people that were using the forums at the time. At that time it took 7 moderators that were on at different times. Sometimes 4 or 5 of us would be on at the same time. That was what it took to keep things cleaned up so the regular people could share their thoughts without being run over. Even with 7 of us on, it wound up still getting worse. Because they allowed a sex thread, we were overrun with perverts. Thankfully, Mingle doesn't have a sex thread. When you allow a sex thread, you drag in the "drudge". Women get nasty messages on dating sites. That's just the truth of it. When you allow a sex thread the nasty messages can double and in the case of POF forums, triple.

POF is still standing because the powers that be did away with the forums. DH didn't. And now they are gone. Forums can make or break a site.

That's why I say, many here have it made and don't know it. Here, for the most part, people have a decent place to share their thoughts. If it wasn't for the moderators, you wouldn't have it. It would be just like DH was. And you see what happened to DH. They allowed free for alls in their forums. On at least one forum, it was overrun with dic pictures. When certain women tried to post something, whoever answered would many times answer with a dic pic.

Their forums were full of spammers/scammers/sex perverts and nothing but arguments. You couldn't have a different opinion without someone cussing you out calling you every son-of-a bit#@ in the book. The forums were useless for decent people. I know, I was there. I would hate to see the Mingle forums turn into what POF and the DH forums turned into.

Moderating on dating sites ain't easy. Me personally, I thank them. Because I know what these forums would become if it wasn't for them. It's a constant battle. It never lets up. Here on Mingle, they have two mods and two administrators. Four people trying to keep up with hundreds of others. It's an irritating, unpaid, thankless job.

They do it for free. So everyone else can enjoy themselves while they are here.

To each his/her own. I personally don't like them, and those who wear them are not attractive to me.
