With a number of dating sites, the woman is required to make the first indication. A man is not allowed to make an initial contact without the woman having shown some level of interest in him.

On Mingle2, both men and women may message first. But if you are not getting any reply, do not keep messaging the same person because there is an automatic lock out after three unanswered messages. Keep in mind, no reply may mean not interested, or the member is no longer active.

There isn' t a certain answer. For most of situation, boys are the people who first send messages when start dating. But, if a girl loves a boy a lot, is there any problems with that girl to say hello to her ideal boy first? Great chance will never easily appear again.

Good question. Here in the UK. It is expected the guy to do the chasing by asking a girl out on a date in the real world, which seems to be the same online for some people. However, times change, and it doesn't seem to matter very much to most people in my opinion, particularly to those on dating sites. I believe everyone should feel free to contact those they are interested in romantically, where it's possible to do so.

Welcome to Mingle2 and good luck in your search.

It depends on your looks really. Most people on here are senders, not recievers.

you must know each person is different in their preferences.

I am apparently a relic who EMBRACES gender roles. I prefer the whole masculine/protector/provider type male who initiates.

I prefer to be the feminine/supporter/nurturer/encourager who responds.

Seeing as online interactions are more anonymous than face to face, I think you should go for it if you are interested in someone and not really worry about the lil stuff.

Nobody is going to know that YOU are interested in them UNLESS YOU tell them.
