I don't really do game parties anymore.
In the past, I have done some pretty elaborate stuff depending on who all was gunna be there. Spending $250 on a superbowl party's refreshments was not out of the question and the whole family got involved with the prep and clean-up. Chicken wings is awesome and you can really get creative in all the different dipping sauces that go with them. When Ponderosa was still in business, used to pick up 200-250 wings and then make an assortment of dipping sauces. We arranged the sauces from super-hot to sweet. Chunks of cheese and summer sausage on toothpicks work well with the sauces too. Then you have all the different fondues you can make with dipping anything from chunks of french bread to banannas. I used to fill a big plastic punch bowl with assorted chips, pretzels and tortilla chips and set out different flavored dips for those. Mini egg rolls, pizza rolls, walking tacos... Assorted nuts, candy, one year the X and my daughter made homemade fudges. Fruit and dip, Veggies and dip, pick up some of those bamboo skewers and stuff them with all sorts of things. You can pick up a 1/4 keg of beer, throw it in a tub with ice and most guys will be happy. |

Tom if you decide to have another I'm coming We usually do burgers or brisket sandwiches. Of course chips and beer are a must. And I make my fried pies for the gang. I did sliders one year - sliders are great and now you can get those King's Hawaiian slider buns and those make anything a potential slider. I still have movie parties with family when they're here. Pretty much the same stuff I made for the game parties but in smaller quanities. I have 4 slow cookers and a warmer. Ever heard of stuffed mushrooms? http://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?q=stuffed%20mushrooms&rs=typed&term_meta[]=stuffed%7Ctyped&term_meta[]=mushrooms%7Ctyped |

Try this,
Pick up some Triscuts Lay them out and put a bit of marinara on each, some crumbled sausage and top with cheese and bake till the cheese is gooey. Melba toast pizza with pepperoni, warmed marinara and melted mozzerella. Pizza burger sliders basically a slider with pizza toppings in it. |

Those Kings Hawian buns are great we use them When my son comes for dinner and I make them, I have to buy two packs because he will eat one pack just by himself. You can chill them and slice them into slivers and dry them and add them to the dipping tray. They're like lil sweet crackers... |

|
If you have those lil pretzel sticks you can use those as an edible toothpick to hold yer meatball or mini kabob.

Stuffed tater skins
Ice cream sammich cake You can take toaster waffles, toast them and quarter them and slather peanut butter and jam on them, put them in a lil bowl and top with ice cream or whip cream, drizzel some hersheys syrup or carmel syrup over them and top with some candy sprinkles. I keep unused bottles of raspberry soda, root beer and birch beer and let it go flat, I drizzel a bit of that on the waffles for a sweet addition. |

I'm honored but I can't really cook in any kitchen but mine (I know where everything is).
You can pick up pulled pork at the store now. Use that as a warmed topping on your cheese and crackers tray. They also make those chicken & beef seasoned precooked fajita meat pouches. Just warm that up and add that to a mini burrito tray with all the fixins. You get soft taco size tortillas, some refried beans (warmed), some preshredded lettuce, some rotel and some shredded cheese blends in bowls. Let them have at it. I would buy a cheap $20 6x9 rug that I put under the food tray table to 'contain the messes'. Just roll it up and toss it when yer done. And, don't forget napkins and covers on the arms of your sofa and chairs (if you allow eating in the rec room). With this little apartment I'm in right now, all the food stays in the kitchen but you can still see the TV from there. NOBODY eats on my furniture. Another thing you can do (non-food) is to pick up some patch cords and plug your TV sound output into the AUX IN jack on your home stereo. You should hear Gozilla roar at 100 watts per channel! |
