Yes, I agree that not many People Read.
I must admit I am not much of a Book Reader either. I would rather watch the Film.
However... the Only Author and Books I have read were from James Herbert... the Rats Trilogy and others like the Fog. I don't know quite how I came to reading such Graphic Horror, I guess it just Clicked. I have tried reading other Books but I lose interest very quickly and I fall asleep. But at least I have read books.

So I got roped into a book club on WhatsApp by a friend lol. Last month we read I Am Watching You by Teresa Driscoll-- dreadful book! This month we are reading Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury, which is much better lol.

I am also reading I Let You Go by Clare Macintosh.

I finished writing my first novel in May. Almost done editing for the 2nd time (2 chs left) and then I'll be searching for an agent and querying!

Im currently reading James Patterson The number one Lawyer. It’s fast paced justice/ law / crime reading at its best. I’ve just purchased four more of his books. Dean Koontz is another author I enjoy and anything from Stephen King. But the best book I read last year was by Laura Dave entitled The Last Thing He Told Me. Scott Pratt is an enjoyable writer. I mean to read a lot this year. Please try a book it is a great suppressor of vices and urges and expands your mind and outlook.

Notes From the Underground - Fyodor Dostoevsky

Been trying to reread some of the mandatory classics and dig a bit deeper into the authors, the is of the latter. I enjoyed Dostoevsky back when Crime & Punishment then Poor Folk were assigned in college lit classes, and enjoyed them even more rereading recently. But I read The Idiot for the first time and fully realized the genius of Dostoevsky's character writing, those C&C opened my eyes to it. This, being more of a personal, somewhat autobiographical, was different but I rather enjoyed it. I really enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

A Man on the Moon
I never realized how close the Apollo program came to disaster. They nearly landed on dangerous, rocky terrain due to a miscalculated landing spot, but last-second adjustments saved the mission.

Not the last book I read but I would certainly recommend Eric Hoffer's "The True Believer".

It will give one great insight into what is currently happening to Americans at this moment, even though he published it in 1951, following WWII.

If you are not a "reader" this is a perfect book for you.
It is written in a small number of short, concise chapters, almost like he was trying to teach children & young adults about the complex subject of what happened to the German peoples' society in the 1930s & 1940s at a time when your average adult was not in the habit of deep, introspective, analysis.

We still aren't, so it's a very useful teaching guide even today.
Really good "bathroom" book as each chapter times out at about the same amount of time one might cop a squat for their daily ablutions.

Typically I keep 2 books going, 1 novel + 1 anthology or collection of short stories.
That way I have something to read suited to my allotted time or desired interest to immerse myself in a full-length read.
Currently those 2 books are;
"Pew! Pew!; Bad versus Worse" - an anthology edited by M. D. Cooper
(4th of 5 books in the Pew! Pew! anthology series.)

"To Challenge Heaven" - Book 3 in the "Out of the Dark" series by David Weber & Chris Kennedy
(Vlad the Impaler takes on the Galactic Hegemony & revenges the near eradication of humankind by orbital bombardment.)

Beyond Mars & Venus by John Gray.
Not finished it yet.

In the immortal phrasing of a regular here;
hihi - That sounds like a compilation of "Men are from Mars & Women are from Venus" that crashed into "Fifty Shades of Grey".
shocked
