It is an ending that merits an American national day of mourning.

From CNN: "Once a cultural touchstone, Mad Magazine is halting the publication of new content and vanishing from newsstands."

On his Twitter account, Weird Al Yankovic posted the following lament:

A sad ending to a cultural icon.

I remember as a kid, visiting my aunt/uncle with my parents. While the grownups chatted, my sister and I sat in another room reading magazines, such as MAD magazine. I think a lot of that went over my head, since I was only around 10-years-old at the time.

You could/can get it over here too, but never appealed to me. I don't even know what it's about hihi.
But if you liked it such things are always a bit sad.

When I was a kid, I remember I loved MAD magazine. It was crazy funny.

I don't know if I'd think it was that funny now, reading it as an adult, but, as a child, I thought it was great.
