No. I have been hurting over a breakup so much that it made it difficult to fall asleep. But that's different from missing someone. You can be hurting over a breakup and not miss someone.

Yes! My son, after he died... about 12 and a half years ago, he took his own life. I spent many sleepless nights and put myself through a lot of torment feeling it was somehow my fault. It wasn't until after he visited me in my dreams that I was able to sleep peacefully. He told me things that helped me understand more as to why he left. And then we went to Disney World and played. Even though he's not physically here anymore, he will always be in my heart and when I want to see him, I only have to close my eyes and imagine us playing at Disney World or someplace else. As far as those I had a romantic relationship with... Not really. I missed the closeness we had at times and having someone to hold, more so than the actual person... they became an ex for a reason. Like Crystal, I had difficulty falling asleep but that was mostly due to having been hurt, not from missing him.

Have you ever missed someone so much that you couldn’t sleep? Sure. I've wallowed in self pity or have been stressed to the point I've spiked a hormonal response influencing my neurochemistry and interfering with my circadian rhythm. At some point in their life who hasn't? Might as well ask "Have you ever masturbated?" or "ever forced yourself to eat just one more bite?" Of course it kinda matters what is meant by "couldn't sleep?" Taken 20 minutes longer to fall asleep? One night? A week? Years? Poor sleep and being constantly woken up for no apparent reason? For a night? Week? Years?

yes my last relationship still can feel him, smell him and dream of him getting better almost made it 2 weeks without thinking of him then last night happen

River, I did not know that about your son. Sorry to hear. Thank you Cat... I'm at peace with it now. He had the heart of an angel so I like to believe he's continuing his journey in the spirit world as an Angel for the suffering souls still here.

Certainly. It took care of itself tho? Time softens the ache. Consider it says a lot about you and how you feel love to miss someone. For you to be able to feel a loss indicates you vested a lot of yourself towards the relationship. In my book, nothing to be ashamed of.
