Does anyone feed :bird: Birds?

I throw out bread pieces to the Starlings and they eat it up.

I didn't know Birds like bread! They will eat meat too! :grinning:

In my town, I've gone to a place called Kids Creek Pond to get rid of old bread and popcorn. I get swarmed by ducks and geese.

I have 5 bird feeders and BUY feed. did you know the very worst thing is rice thrown at weddings? if birds eat it, when they drink the rice expands and kills the bird. !! I get sunflower seed for bluejays, blackbirds, cardinals etc. cracked corn and finch feed for the smaller birds, and suet for the woodpeckers. and grape jelly for orioles. I even have a robin eating the jelly this year. It's a great pastime... also i have to walk quite a ways to get to the feeders, so its exercise even on a winter day.

Rock, i appreciate you feeding the ravens. Mom had one that dropped out af a nest. she babied it and fed it. Dad built a huge cage, and she taught the bird to talk just like a parrot. Had him about 4 years.

We do with bird seed. We have a bird feeder, which resembles a wooden front porch swing, hanging from our tree in the front yard. We also have a bird bath close to it. My bedroom window is across from both of them so every now and then I peak outside to see what’s going on. We also have a rope hanging from the tree with two short prongs where my dad places two ears of corn for the squirrels, it’s fun to watch them.

Since I am on the island next door, it is common here as well to give bread to the ducks. But in a local park, which I frequent, there is warning signs up, saying not to feed bread to ducks, because they can't digest it

I read feeding birds bread isn’t good for them? It doesn’t have the nutrition they need. Not sure if that has changed or not.

OT: I have several feeders out filled with sunflower seeds, mealworms and the like.

Wow 😮everyone is fake on here's photo
