Until we as a society are willing to enter into meaningful dialogue and understand where the other is on racism, we never will make any significant progress toward ending it!

Everything is the fault of somebody else. Minneapolis has been run by Democrats since 1974. Baltimore, the last city that had massive police corruption charges and mass riots, has been run by Democrats since 1967. How much longer do they need to fix the problems of race within their city? Surprise, surprise the autopsy showed fentanyl intoxication and recent methamphetamine in this felon that many are calling a hero, along with hypertensive heart disease. The black folks really need to find some new hero's besides OJ, Bill Cosby, Tupac, and Rodney King. I know many people including many politicians that would like nothing more than to see all 4 officers drug thru the streets and lynched with out due process, and at this point it is far too late to ever get the truth. However the initial report of the cops included Floyd stumbling and the reason they took him from the back of the car to the ground was because he was having trouble breathing. The officers laid him on his side and restrained him thinking this was in the best interest of everybody's safety including Floyd's, clearly the ambulance was on its way as it arrived shortly after they did this. These cops have some medical training but in no way are they professionals or able to know what to do in every situation. Floyd was acting paranoid and clearly the fentanyl, meth, and problems breathing could have been the only factors that caused his death. There is no proof that the restraint is what actually killed him but in this curupt world we live we will never know. BLM and the Democrats have far too much to gain to ever have the truth known!

If he was already having problems breathing, then why did the Copper, put his knee and all his weight onto the guys neck then? Doesn't matter if he was under the influence of drugs, or not. He didn't deserve to die, in the way he did!

Police Dept denounce behaviour of officers in Mr Floyd’s death .......

“As I did many years ago, all police officers take an oath to protect their community.

The death of Mr. Floyd is of course tragic.

As a professional law enforcement officer, I am deeply concerned by what I saw in the video and the actions of the police officers captured in the video. The actions of the police officers involved are not consistent with the training, policies, values, and high standards of the Pasco Police Department.

While I am disturbed by what I have seen, I am also encouraged that justice is taking a swift course, and I believe that everyone should be afforded due process of law.

The Pasco Police Department has taken great strides to include our community as we improve our policies and training to ensure a culture of dignity and respect. We believe in engaging with our community to ensure transparency and strengthen their confidence.

The actions of officers we have seen in the video do not remotely define the vast majority of police officers serving in communities around the country, and certainly not those of the Pasco Police

We did all of this in 2012...

the DOJ instituted new restrictions and regulations for local law enforcement...

Required more sensitivity training. More restrictions on accepted arrest policies...

So what's next? More, more sensitivity training?

I get what some are saying their criminals ...
even criminals have rights ... not to be shot in the back ...hung from a tree ...killed for some cops ...
need to feel like he has all the power ...
this man was in handcuffs and a knee on his throat ... die ...
with in mins ... why not put him in the cop car and taken to be booked ... all of these black murders come from raciest cops
an have no regard for a human life ...
all black lives matter
is to have feel protected by the people that should be protecting them... they want justice for a crimes a police officer caused ...
this is in every case these people do not get respect from the police ... all they get are excuses an abused or death and in another report he died from real easy for u suffocation ...
how would u feel if he was a relative of yours ...
or could u feel ... this was wrong just like all
the others before him ...
you have to separate the peaceful protesters ...

from the others...
that just want to take it too the next level like riots an destruction ...
the only way this will end peacefully end is police have to stop killing blacks the way they do and other raciest people do ...
and they should be charged for killing a man for seems to me nothing ...
he is begging for his life
and that cop did nothing
but show off his talent of being racist an being a little man ...
this was not his decision to kill him it was the courts...
and all that think that was ok ...
do you know what that cop also did ...
cost the city an the tax payers money ... for that family ...
I do believe they should keep record of the police...
when they do things like this ...instead of letting them get off
and back on the streets in another city
or the same city ...
they need to be charged for their miss deeds ...
just like anyone else who commits murder ...
and don't let them get away with murder either ...
just becouse they are a cop ...

Everyone still gnashing their teeth and rending garments...

still waiting for all these Monday Morning quarterbacks who have never had a gun stuck in their face to give a solution to the problem.

Come on experts...we already reformed the police 8 years ago...what is the answer?

So what really happened was Floyd did not want to get into the car, he said he was claustrophobic and was having trouble breathing. He got out of the car and went to the ground face down, one officer held his legs down, another his back, and one put his knee on his neck. Despite Floyd saying he couldn’t breath, despite one of the officer’s asking if they should put him on his side, the one officer did not remove his knee from his neck, for almost 9 minutes. At which time Floyd appeared to stop breathing, the officer checked for a pulse and said he couldn’t find one but continued to keep his knee on his neck for another 3 minutes. At this point an ambulance is called, taken to hospital and pronounced DOA.

If anyone can see any justification in that I would love to hear it.

The medical examiner has ruled this death by asphyxiation. While I do not consider Floyd a hero, I do find his death tragic, and I do hope we will see change as it relates to police brutality. At least then his death will not be in vain.

All Americans were rightly sickened by the brutal death of George Floyd in Minneapolis last week, President Trump says. “My administration is fully committed that, for George and his family, justice will be served. He will not have died in vain.”

Four days ago, another African-American man was killed, this time gunned down while standing outside the Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in Oakland, California.

Dave Patrick Underwood isn’t a household name. His death didn’t make nearly as many headlines. But his life mattered, too, and his murder should sicken every American.

Underwood was a law enforcement officer in the Federal Protective Service. He and a colleague were standing guard when the gunshots came, killing Underwood and sending his fellow officer to the hospital in critical condition. Oakland’s interim police chief says the shooting was most likely an attack that deliberately targeted uniformed officers.

All across America, violent domestic terrorists have exploited the real hurt and pain felt by thousands of peaceful protesters. The need to save innocent lives and protect our most vulnerable communities from these criminals should be obvious to every peace-loving citizen. Yet media talking heads and opportunistic politicians would rather keep exploiting fear instead of solving the problem and restoring order. That’s unacceptable.

“If a city or a state refuses to take the actions that are necessary to defend the life and property of their residents, then I will deploy the United States military and quickly solve the problem for them,” President Trump said in an address last night.

Ending domestic terrorism shouldn’t be a partisan issue that Democrats leave to Republicans. Neither should loudly supporting the thousands of decent, brave law enforcement officers who put themselves on the line every night to keep us safe.

Violence against police officers is an affront to everything America stands for. Stories about the assaults against them over the past week need to be told, even if corporate media executives decide that it isn’t the “right” narrative to push:
A Las Vegas officer is on life support after a gunshot to the head.

Four police officers were shot last night during riots in St. Louis.

An NYPD officer was struck by a vehicle in an apparent hit-and-run.

Violent thugs beat a police officer on the streets of New York.

How does any of this help our nation heal from the tragedy in Minnesota?

It doesn’t. No American, from any community, should ever feel unsafe on our streets—and that includes those who risk their lives to protect us. The rule of law applies to everyone, from bad cops who abuse their power to violent rioters who attack the police.

The Minneapolis police department is not racist, in fact a couple years ago they even put Popeye chicken cups and 40 oz malt beer cans on their Christmas tree to honor black people. However I I do not have a lot of faith in them been they couldn't even keep their police department from being burnt down, but in their defence they were 4 officers missing at the time!

waving hey dust ... can you provide a link to the autopsy report .,.there is now also an independent autopsy report which seems to contradict the other ???

Dealing with someone who is intoxicated or high on drugs does not negate the officer’s responsibility to maintain safety ...

To be honest ., watching the videos that are circulating . I saw no concerning behaviour from George .. Just from the policemen . Especially the officer on his neck with hands in his pocket . I wonder how much he weighed ??? 4 mins without oxygen to the brain is enough to cause irreversible brain damage . We know there was at least three minutes no pulse was detected .

When we use any kind of restraint in the hospital .. there is a very strict protocol which needs to be followed including frequent safety Reassessments . I am sure police restraint carries that same obligation. .

It is not really party politics. It is simply human condition. Some of the best and worst places here have democratic leaders, just like some of them have republican leaders. It is also not so much as a problem of isolated one-off type cities, but a nationally entrenched culture founded on the history of America. There is no simple fix or no magic 'party'that will have all the answers. The only way to get out is together, with understanding as humans and not merely 'democrat or republican'. And yes, because of the human condition, crimes happen. But there are certain 'trusted' positions held to a higher standard that deserve higher scrutiny. For instance, many children get molested. But if the molestor is someone like a teacher or priest, someone in a trusted position of authority, it does and should be closely followed so that checks and balances on 'authority' are not lost.

The justice system should deal with authorities like they do citizens who are not in those positions. As of yet, we know authorities get much more of a free pass on things citizens do not. And when I say authority, I am not speaking only of police but anyone who's position or status gives them dictation over the lives of others. Certain demographics get more a benefit of the doubt and attempt at peace or deescalation than other demographics do. This is the issue, imho, and what makes it at least seem that although all lives matter, the system does surely not treat all lives like they do.

nice doubletalk...no answers.

The people demanding change are the same ones that have been running the show in these cities for decades...

Democrats have run Chicago since 1931...when do they get around to showing us how to fix the problems of society?

Philadelphia since 1952... Washington D.C. since 1961...Boston since 1930...St. Louis since 1949...New Orleans since 1872...Atlanta since 1879...

When do we get to see the magic? 150 years isn't enough time to bring about hope and change?

Hey Blondey, I never do links and I try not to respond personally to others. My computing skills are not that great when it comes to moving things from one spot to another. Unfortunately at this point I can not find where I saw each article or video and Google is now flooded with nonsense about George Floyd. When the video first surfaced and uncensored Floyd clearly pushes or falls into the officer as he gets out of the car. They then cuff him and sit him on the sidewalk. Then as they lead him to the car he falls down, at the time not sure if this was intentional to throw the cops off or if he is having some kind of issue. They then go to him on the ground with the officers restraining him until he is limp. Another video shows them pulling him from back seat. The officer statement after the incident states he was clostrphobic while in the back seat and having difficulty breathing so they take him out to the ground. While restraining him one officer says " I think he's suffering from proxidum or whatever" and he should be on his side. The coroner's report I was referring too came from the independent report not the Hennepin co. report which also included the cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual.
Both saying he had fentanyl in his system.

Fentanyl at any level in the body can cause death, just ask Prince, it can cause breathing problems and heart attacks. The restraint was at the back of the neck, not the front, and he was still able to talk, so maybe it some what contributed to his shortness of breath I highly doubt a healthy human couldn't survive that. To all the doubters out there take a belt and wrap it around your neck til you can't breathe, make sure your are taking video of this, after 2 minutes try saying "I can't breathe". If you do this right I'm willing to bet 95% will not be able to talk at all. Its easy for people to judge these cops after the fact, there was no advantage to them to let Floyd die, they did what they thought was necessary at the time and now they have to live with their decisions the rest of their life. People are forced to make these types of decisions all the time, but when was the last time you seen a Doctor go to prison for making a bad decision?
