Topic: How do you project the "right vibe"?

I have problems meeting guys in person. I get really nervous around men I don't know, so I either ignore them or get very shy. Once I get to know a guy, I have no problem talking to them, but by then, they see me as a friend and nothing more.

Any words of advice on how to deal with this problem? I'm sick of falling for guys who have already decided to only be friends with me.

I have the same problem too sometimes. Have you tried having one of your friends with you? That would make you feel more comfortable and they can jump in anytime to help you out.

i think most guy's want what they can't have
so give them small talk and mixed signs
but brush off their advances

Let them know you are interested with a smile, a look in the eye , body language......then they might aproach you....

just dont treat them like your only option then they see you are there till they get something else. be nice and sweet, but guys usually get hooked on the challenge.
but it all about what works for you too, alot of guys throw me into friend category after getting to know me, then after were friends want more. so you just need your own style and vibe.
i have just realized the more available you seem the sooner they loose interest.
hope you find your personal vibe.

I'm generally very shy in person. Guys don't usually speak to me at all unless I already know them, and by then they have crossed over into that friend zone. I'm not sure how to get them out of the friend zone, I just know that you should probably act before they get there. It's harder to do when you're shy, but if you want it bad enough....flowerforyou

I think that you're probably right about the "want what they can't have" bit, but my problem is that I don't really know how to make small talk very well. I just end up feeling very awkward and get so worried that I will say something stupid that I don't say anything at all.

I do try going out with my friends, as someone else suggested, but I just end up talking to them and not anyone new. ohwell

you have to take a chance and put yourself out there.....
It might not work all the time.....but nothing ventured nothing gained......

well from a guys view, a shy girls is usually a cute girl always quiet and not sayin somethin, for shy people i used to be shy myself and now i just say what is on my mind and dnt care wht i say, so wht you wana do is take a deep breath and start a conversation about somethin you like or just somethin random like wht a good movie you have watched, and try not to think that you shy just say wht you want to say.

Try to talk them as if they were already one of your friends, just relax, try not to overthink, and enjoy the moment, and talk.

What is the worst that can happen from talking and flirting a little, they won't want you??? If that is the worst they can do, it really isn't personal, so what?? Confidence is very sexy. Do all you can to become more confident. Confidence is meeting them eye to eye. Little smiles but not giggly or too much. Be available to talk to but not overly eager. Guys are nervous too, just be friendly and a little flirty, it will let them know you like them. Best I can do tonite, have had a terrible headache today. Hopefully this will be understandable...lol

You have to understand the step of making the friendship IS the first step, you can fall in love and I would say yes do this if the feelings are there, feelings are healthy they give you guidance on the rod to life .

But don’t rush in to anything or be disappointed in the respite to that of just being friends

and yes I will figure out how to do Quotes... later

Yes body talk very, very important, says so much more then words ever can.

Ever have a guy look at you and you get that feeling?...you know what I am saying, then he opens his mouth and well.. too hell that all went?... well those examples stink.

But anyway yes to this body movement thing, first do the open wide eyes, look down a little so you don’t look like a crazy chick, do a slight shy smile, as if to say gosh this is the first time, that I have felt this way about someone.

Do a little twisting of the fingers with arms extended downward with a little twisting of the torso too for good measure… nothing like a chubby checker twist !!! just the body form that suggest to a dominant male that you can be taken, without too much work.

There is much more to this and I will further my points if and only if this is received well as not being to shall we say clumsy.
