When I read this in a woman's profile a red flag goes up! Is this something that needs to be said, especially in the caption? It tells me that she has trust issues that she hasn't worked out yet and maybe isn't ready for dating again yet. Am I mistaken?

In my experience, you're right on the money. It means they've already been through a cheating episode and were badly burned. They're not over it, and that's why it's in the profile -- I mean, as a general matter of common sense, I think most of us bring an implicit "I would prefer a non-cheater" mindset to the table, but to put it up front like that shows some residual, lingering fear --

And the sad part is that these are often the people who tend to overreact and see (imagine) signs of cheating in the NEXT relationship, even when it isn't there....

You are probably right that she has trust issues, obviously....

but not ready to date yet?....I think I would have to read more of her profile to determine if that is true....just because someone cheated on you & now you are skeptical when it comes to 'trust' doesn't mean you can't go out there looking for someone that can be trusted....

i think that is mentioned in my profile, now, while thats something i want in a relationship is to be with someone that wont cheat on me, and yes i'm gonna flat out say it, cause just cause someone should know you dont wanna be cheated on doesnt mean that really know it, okay thats confusing i think but oh well,

i trust untill the person i'm with gives me a good reason not to,

To me....I will go into a relationship when the barriers are down on both sides...Mine are down thats for sure...but I do attract men who are still very hung up on their ex girlfriends...dont find the anger thing a turn on at all...

You are correct.....this person does have trust issues...and she doesn't sound very happy or confident of herself.....

Wise words in some respect...Its all a case of responsibility...if you approach someone its time to be kind and thoughtful and respectful....dont just intrude and expect them to change and tow the line...

The way I look at it, you are basically marketing yourself...
Think of it as maybe a car ad...you want to showcase all of the positive features of you, and not focus on any past issues or negatives. Everyone has a negative or two, regardless of how significant they are.

Showcase your positive features, and let someone discover any negatives after they have met you and gotten to know you. If your positives are strong enough, they will be able to overlook some, if not all, of your negatives.

No, that's not a red flag. That's good common sense to put that statement out there...so that the creeps can stay away!
