I watched a couple of cooking movies recently and neither one was really about cooking. I watched "The Menu", which I enjoyed, Ralph Fiennes is always great. I watched "Chef". This starred Jon Favreau and John Leguizamo and that one hit me emotionally. Hard. The relationship between single, divorced, father, and his son hit me on many levels. I got teary eyed for both the successes and failures I've experienced. "Chef" really captured those experiences very well. It may be a niche movie but it will always mean a lot to me.

Currently watching movies from the 90s :)
Lots of good movies in that decade!!
Way before the B S started with the marvel stuff, which is the main menu nowadays and has been for over a decade.

The Fugitive, US Marshalls, Armageddon, Primal Fear, Deep Impact etc.

I grew up watching "The Lion King" (it was the second film I saw at the cinema as a kid and my little sister was gifted the VHS ), but last night I watched it with my Dad. It was amazing especially as the intro song has Zulu and my Dad is a native speaker of the language. It felt as if I was watching two films: the movie itself and my Dad's reaction. 10/10 for both :))

The Night Agent was/is a good series!

OT - I was watching "Extinction" last night but then realised it was about AI "people' who had taken over our planet by killing off almost the entirety of human beings.
At first it gave the impression that we humans came under attack of aliens.

At some point you see an AI bashing in the head of a human. I got sick to the stomach as this subject is dangerously close to becoming reality.

Even Stephen Hawking warned about the dangers of AI and that it could pose a real threat to human survival.

I switched it off to watch another movie, "10.5: Apocalypse".

The Sound Of Music (60th Anniversary Screening At The Cinema)
Yes, it was epic!
Yes, I'm in love!
Yes, it's a memory I'll never forget having grown up watching that film every so often, but not experiencing it on the silver screen. Nothing compares (as Sinead O'Connor would say).

Stolen Girl - 2025
Based on a true story.

A really good movie! And they managed to do it without turning it into a sob-story. Very well done.
