Cats are just unpredictable creatures. Hopefully, Bramble will come around. I keep fingers crossed waving

Thank you, Larsi!! It is helpful to get some feedback and info from a cat person!

I did get the Feliway. It seems to go up and down with Bramble now. He's still outdoors most of the time (he always was this time a year). Sometimes he comes in okay, other times he gets grumpy. Wait and see!

I got Nila a tall cat tree, a simple one, just to scratch. I'd planned for this from the word go as the other climbing tree has scratching places that are low only. And I noticed it didn't work anymore as she's getting bigger.
This new one is 90cms tall! And... she LOVES it! At first she had to sniff and didn't go in yet, I think the smell of 'new'. But now... she almost constantly playing with it.

I also got her a new, larger mouse. Just cos I liked it, hihi, but also cos the other ones are so damned small they keep disappearing. They can get underneath even small places of cupboards and my desk. Not handy. This one cannot.
And... she is totally nuts about it!! The best buy concerning toys so far! When awake she's almost non-stop playing with it, carrying it with here even! She walks around with it in her mouth, or takes it places with her paws.
She managed to get it on her larger climbing & playing tree just now?! Amazing! And she takes it with her as she goes up the 90cm scratch pole, haha.

She has grown though, phew! Reminds me of back then with the kids, just that that took a little more time haha.
Like when you first set up the baby bed. Thinking, OMG, that's so small. Is that going to be big enough? Then your baby is in there and almost disappears, hihi.
The same thing with Nila and her furry basket. It seemed so large at first, but now...
Damn it goes fast!

Here's she on the large cat tree, the other she's taking her large mouse with her as she climbs:

My li'l Nila has now passed the 5 months mark and she beginning to look more and more like a still small adult cat. The baby face has gone hihi.
That goes so fast, dammit!

She regularly gets to go upstairs now so she has a bit more territory and the stairs to run up and down. She does have a lot of energy!
And the extension is funny. Every morning when I've barely had my breakfast she starts meowing in front of the door to the extension. She wants in. If I don't get up she jumps on the door's bottom half, and she won't let up meowing.
So I sigh, get up (every morning, lol), get the key, go in while she runs in too. Then it's opening the curtains -which I think it's all about for her- so she can look into the garden through the huge windows.
Then I walk back into the warmer living room and... she walks back with me ohwell
Not sure what all the fuss is about, haha, but she does this every day!

In any case, some photos :)

Still looking very small when all curled up in my lap!

Sun bathing with her legs crossed, hihi. She often moves her head back -further than this too- to look at me. She's always after eye-contact :)
And I like her eyes! love

Happily snoozing & purring in the top basket of het cat / climbing tree :)

I have a cat with verry similar markings as thbottom cat. are his legs almost stripy and a really light, specked belly?

mine's quite big, compared with other cats.

shame I can't post pics.

It's a 'she', 5 months old now :) She's a Ragdoll mix.

I've found out you see these markings more often. As you can see in the photos her legs and body have black stripes, but indeed her belly is white with grey speckles.

I don't know if all cats with these markings have purebred blood in them, but I'd guess they do as it's too typical to not be.
Nila's father is purebred Ragdoll with all the papers, her mother is 1/2 Maine Coon 1/2 regular cat.

Some of Nila's sisters as well as her 1 brother have the long haired fur of a Maine Coon or Ragdoll.
Nila doesn't but she does have the very full fur of one and also the slightly longer body.

I think the markings are more Maine Coon than Ragdoll although that would be a bit weird as Nila is only 1/4 Maine Coon.

As for size, both Ragdoll & Maine Coon cats can get really big! Especially the males. Some get to medium dog size, totally unreal! Google it, quite shocking, hihi.

My li'l Nila is now 7 months! Time flies, phew.
I've made an appointment at the vets to get her neutered so she can go outdoors without a problem. The indoors is getting too small and I'd love for her to be able to sniff up fresh air, to run and climb and play outside. I think she's going to be so happy!
Nevertheless, I'm really nervous about the surgery. If there was another option I would not have it done. So peculiar as in the past I didn't even think about it but now I feel like, why the heck? The poor li'l thing having her reproductive organs removed, an abdominal operation.
I don't like it.
Anywho, it's doing it or keeping her indoors which isn't an option and won't make her happy either.
It's going to happen on Imbolc, February 1st.

This is my Nila end December love

And this one I took today: love

I only wanted to add that male cats can get neutered and female cats can get spayed.

What a sweet girl she is

Suppose she has to stay indoors for a week or so, til the stitches dissolve.

Mine got an elastic bandage, that looked like a t shirt, to cover the area. Better than the infamous cone, I reckon.

Thank you, Larsi!

An elastic band sounds better than a cone!
I don't think my daughters cats got a cone either. Maybe it depends on the vet what they do?
I'm going to another one in my area, wait and see. I don't think Nila is going to be happy with a cone, hihi. She can be quite feisty. Maybe I should phone and ask them about it beforehand.

I phoned the vet, she's not getting a cone thing as most cats go nuts with one of these.
So she's going to get an elastic 'shirt' :)

Well, it is that far tomorrow morning: going to the vet to have Nila spayed.
I'm still not happy about it. Glad when I can pick her up by the end of the afternoon. But I will phone sooner to hear she's fine otherwise I'm going mental!
I love that li'l kitty SO much, just the thought of something happening to her...
