I hope to one day see whales for real and to also see them breach!
But just now saw this, holy cow!! No, holy whale!! haha.
It does put things in perspective doesn't it. I think I'd suddenly feel small.
And I might scream blushing Yet, how incredibly beautiful! And how blessed I'd be to se that.

This time not reducing size...

Some more footage here with article:

Very cool Crystal. :)

I watched the video. If the whale had landed in the opposite direction, it looks like it would have landed on the boat. Exciting and scary at the same time, haha.

Pretty amazing, isn't it!?

I watched the footage too, and that was absolutely amazing but must have been a bit scary at the same time

Wow, can you imagine how incredible that would be? In New York, at the Natural History museum, there is a life-sized replica of a blue whale hanging from the ceiling. It's amazing. When you walk under it and look up at it, you feel so small.

Beautiful !!!!

I feel very privileged to live in New Zealand . At the moment our Southern Right Whales and Humpback whales are migrating around the east coast of New Zealand and through Cook Strait . Some spectacular sightings of breaching behaviour . Although it looks like fun ... It is thought this is actually a type of communication to alert other whales of their location .
This last week we had a pod of 7 orca ( also known as killer whales but not actually a whale at all... our largest dolphin ) visit one of our harbour inlets (in Wellington) for five days where they slept , played and fed on stingray . Of course they visited during lockdown but lots of locals were able to video and photograph the pod . Looking forward to their next visit smitten smitten smitten

That must indeed be beautiful and certainly great to have the opportunity to see them for real. It'd sure as hell make me very happy, haha.
As it is I'd have to travel quite far! I believe my English friends saw whales when in Canada. I think that'd be the closest for me, go figure.
But have you also seen them or do you live to far from where they are?

Oh yes, those are amazing aren't they?! The blue whale is the largest animal to have lived on Earth so far. If you look at this photo you can see how small other animals are -even extinct ones- in comparison. I happened to look that up the other day for some reason that I cannot remember, hihi, hence having the image saved.

not only have I seen them but I have assisted with strandings . I am fortunate to live on a remote east coast beach that is home to seals, penguins and whales . Just last week we had a sourtherm right whale and it’s calf visit for several days . They were just a few metres from shore feeding in the shallows . Part of the reason I love where I live . So honoured to be in their world .

That is absolutely great!
I live a stone throw away from the North sea and there are seals here. I sometimes go over to the sluices, right next to the beach. There's a lot of fish there in the fast moving water so an easily meal for seals.
Occasionally a seal is in the middle of the busy road that is close to the beach and runs along it. It's a fast driving road, 80kms per hour, so not very handy! They do have to make an effort to get there, so why they do?
Then police has to come and people to put the seal back in the sea.
That's about all the excitement we can get, but I do love seals and they're beautiful to watch!

seals are super adorable . They can certainly be very stubborn when they don’t want to move . We had one recently that made a golf course it’s home for days . The locals closed the road access to help keep him safe .

At the moment on my beach , young pups are coming ashore to rest while mum goes out hunting . Their big soulful ocean eyes melt my heart love: love never tire of seeing them .

Haha, that is quite funny, a golf course. Well, not if you want to play I guess, but still.

When that road thing happens here road police advises not to try and move them yourself and to leave them be until help has arrived.

I don't think I have seen seal pups. They don't generally come out on the beach. There's a sandbank a little further out at sea where they reside. You can see them there by taking a boat tour.
I have seen 2 seals in the surf of another beach where there weren't any tourists.
During summer the beach here is usually crammed.
Sounds your beach is far more peaceful and tranquil.

Crystal ... check out the video in this article . Imagine opening your door and seeing this wee seal pup looking at you . Hope his mum was not one of the dead seals seen on the beach . They claim he is putting on weight so sounds like he is at an age to feed himself . Such a cutie smitten
