Have you looked on craigslist to see if anyone has a spare room to rent in your area? Or in the local newspaper? See if there is anything there.

I wish you were closer Ms. Teddy, I have a big house and live alone and the pets would not be a problem. If you could find a way here you are welcome here.

There must be an agency somewhere that will help. Have you tried the local churches for help? The pets do become an issue. There are "Adopt-a-Pet" programs around here who will help you by housing your pets until you are settled, people volunteer for the programs, as an alternative to the Humane Society and keep these pets until they can find a home, and I have heard of them keeping animals for people until they can be settled in a new home. Is there something like that there?? We have a Community Action Program here that also has housing for the homeless, they are cabins, and they let people stay there for 90 days free charge, but again no pets, but is usually a waiting list too. I do think you need to contact an attorney about getting help with your social security or whatever help you are trying to get, sounds like they are dragging their feet way to long. Definitely not fair to you. You may luck out with some church people willing to help you out with the animal care too and many churches offer shelters. Just a thought. Take care of yourself.

Sorry to hear of your situation your in I know that must be hard. Can't say I have been there yet but one never knows this day and time.

But please do try the churches in the area I have directed others before to try the churches they not only paid there utilitys and there rent but helped them get other help as well. Also contact the welfare office they can help with food and medical as well.

You will be in my prayers hope you find some help and yes as the others have said get a lawyer for the SS they are listed in the yellow pages there are usually several that will do it and collect later.

I live low income housing. I only make 664 dollars a month. SSDI don't pay much. So I would certainly look into low income housing. They do have some restrictions. But thought it might help ya.

i have been homeless also in the past(in my 20's) and living in the car in the middle of February ain't no picnic I know.
Its times like this I wish I was wealthy so I could help folks..

I sooo understand your dilemma with your loved pets. I am not sure I could let mine go either. The laws should have more empathy since Katrina. Look how many people put their own lived in jeopardy to stay with their loved ones.

I live with my mom right now and we have a small house with 6 pets. I cannot let not one of them go. I have 5 chihuahuas. I so wish I had a bigger house to offer you. You would absolutely have been welcome.

Check into the Salvation Army or Red Cross also. There must be a church somewhere out there that would help you.

Is there nothing your children can do? Get a loan? Anything?

Tell Social Security of your problem. Anybody that will listen. Pleeeeeze, pleeeeze someone hear this womans strife.
