I'm in the UK where we have a new Online Safety Act. It hasn't affected me yet, but it will lead to full-time surveillance of everything we do and everywhere we go. I already feel like I'm being watched, and if what I say (or think!) is critical of the government's line, then I can expect a knock on the door.

Haha, Amazon definitely has a way of becoming addictive once you discover how convenient it is! Hundreds of items in a year is impressive sounds like you've really embraced the one-click lifestyle. Sorry about missing out on that wedding invite though!

So true! There's definitely something satisfying about being able to fix things with basic tools that you just can't get with modern gadgets. Everything's gotten so complex now you need specialized software just to diagnose what's wrong, let alone fix it.
