Google said the same occurs in certain areas of (N) US.
I think it stands out to me because I'm not a native speaker English so I find oddities distracting.
Apart from that I used to be an English teach so my brain is trained to pick up mistakes, hihi.
Something that never goes away anymore.
Such things make me want to get out my red pen to correct things or make clear it's incorrect.

With speaking, I can accept some of the common mistakes in English. Especially in an informal conversation (a speech or lecture is different, that should have been checked for grammar and all beforehand).

It is the writing that I am amazed by, I always considered myself as being on the lower scale with my English knowledge...but online here has shown me that there are a lot of people who are worse than I am...lol
