I guess it doesn't bother me if someone ignores me or doesn't want to chat?

A general rule of thumb: If they don't match what you've stated you're looking for you don't owe them a reply. They ignored what you said, you're just returning the favor. If they DO match but you're not attracted to them for whatever reason a polite "Thanks but you're not my type and good luck" is the only respectable thing to do. |

So I am new here, but not to online sites. I was informed by a member I was rude to ignore their messages and should have just replied I was not interested. I found this odd. Do people actually reply to everyone they aren't interested in? I kinda thought was one of the benefits of online people meeting, to just ignore people you don't want to talk to. I can understand telling someone in a bar that is hitting on you that you're not interested or they are creepy, whatever. But digital rejection seems sort of a waste of time? |

 Well said... first.. nice first post... second.. there are some people (ya me to sometimes) that feel bad by not replying.. so they reply to every email they recieve... even a curtosey .. sorry not interested.... true it is a bonus of onlining that you dont HAVE to reply to all.. but it is a commonly practiced curtosey in here.. we are the super friendly dating site.. the thing is.. it saves people from being jsut ignored... it hurts less to have a reason.. or at least a no thanks.. than to be just ignored... so now you are just going to go around on all the thoughtful threads and copy me??? lol i am just teazin... i put a lot of thought in to that response.. |
