I used to work hard 40 hours a week to pay my mortgage. Now I have 3 jobs... same mortgage.

Yes, much better. I went into a new position two years ago with an enormous increase in salary and have good health benefits. I own a small lovely townhouse, which is furnished beautifully. I have financial security for now and for the future when I retire.
Socially, I have two wonderful sons who see me on a regular basis and take me out to dinner once, sometimes twice a week. Additionally, I have two best friends, and three people that I consider casual friends. But my dating life? Horrible, awful, terrible, the pits .... I think you get my drift. |

Yep! It has nothing to do with the government though. It was my choice and hard work that got me to today.

The highest satisfication of Americans with their lives has been when? Not in the '80s, not the '90s, nope it was 2004! Who was in office then? Exactly. We are also 2 percentage points above the average of 28 years! So, there goes the premise of this topic that mnhiker simply created to yet again hope for a jab at Bush and blame all the world's problems and Americans problems on him. Surprisingly, the majority who posted said their lives are better off, which also goes in line with the Gallup poll. There goes the premise of the mainstream media as well. As to myself, I've been in school almost the entire time, but I'm pretty well off right now. Things only looking good in the future as well. |

I'm sure you remember Rick Santorum, right? He ran on President Bush's coattails as his Number Three. Care to tell the people on this thread who don't live in Pennsylvania why he's not in the Senate now? And what his margin of defeat was? I think if you ask the Evil Media what Bush's approval rating is, you'll find it's at an all-time low. In fact, he's only two months away from being the most unpopular for the greatest amount of time. And where did I get these numbers? Try that bastion of liberal media bias, drudge.com. Record numbers of foreclosures? Record numbers of bankruptcies? Pension funds worried about solvency because of the subprime mess? (<--- oops, I misspelled 'investment fraud'.) 8 yrs ago I was 37,married and pregnant with my own house.Now I am divorced,live in the projects,have an okay job and have a 7 yr old son living with me.I havent had a new bra in three years.So no I'm not better off but the president isnt to blame though a lowering of gas prices would help a lot.

I tried to remain impartial in this, simply getting people's opinion, but since Starsailor2851 decided to do an unprovoked attack on me, I feel I have to weigh in. I don't blame all the world's problems and Americans problems on Bush and never have, that's just you, Starsailor, putting words in my mouth and representing opinions I've never had. That just goes to show how much hatred he has for those who hold opinions different than his own. So before you go spouting off on another tangent, think about what you are about to say before making unfounded accusations, Starsailor. |
