There is nothing wrong with disagreeing with a president, but when one starts a thread entitled "The 935 Lies of President Bush," and does nothing but bash Bush, then that is anti-American. We all need to remember that George Bush is the President of the United States of America and deserves respect by virtue of the office he holds. Furthermore, this site is an internation site and there are people from Canada and Europe who participate in these threads. Bush bashers are so full of hatred that they come across as being anti-American, whether they mean it or not. Bush bashers make Americans appear to be angry, mean stupid people in the eyes of the world.

The moderators should not permit this thread to be entitled "The 935 Lies of Bush." That in itself tells everyone that this is an anti-American thread. It is okay to disagree with President Bush or any president, but why can't it be done in an agreeable way. Why does bashing the president have to be so vicious, mean and ugly. Again, the people who participate in this mean-spirited bashing of Bush are nothing but petty ignorant people who twist facts.

You are correct, big business is running this country. What do you think keeps the USA going? People want to knock the big corporations (not saying that they are perfect)but they are what provide jobs and brings in huge amounts of revenue for our country.

You own your own business. Let me take you back to when President George W. Bush first got into office. Do you remember the tax breaks that he initiated? Everyone, yes, everyone got a tax break. From big corporations on down to the minimum wage earner. Before he became President, there were many who were paying mighty high taxes, and it was the democrats who were in office for the eight (8) years prior to President Bush becoming President. Those very tax cuts are due to expire, the Republicans and President Bush are fighting to get those tax cuts made permanent - tax cuts that will directly be an advantage to you, the small business owner. The democrats are fighting hard to abolish those tax cuts.

Also, remember when President Bush first became President and we all got tax rebates? True, everyone got a different amount, I received a $300 tax rebate. But, never in history did a democrat do such a thing. Republicans are LOW TAXES, Democrats RAISE TAXES. It is very simple to understand and it is all documented. President Bush gave tax breaks in various forms to the small business owner. If you could not tell the difference from pre Bush tax rates to after Bush took office tax rates, if you have an accountant that maintains your books for you, ask him/her to point it out to you.

NOW, President Bush has again created a tax rebate program. He announced to the media his plan, not going into exact detail at the time as the details still had to be put on the table and agreed to. Democrat Harry Reid was livid that President Bush announced his once again, tax rebate, because Mr. Reid wanted it to look like it was the democrats who initiated the plan for another tax rebate. Basically after all the hashing it out, each individual is to receive a $600 tax rebate, married couples will receive $1,200 and $300 for each child. Rebates are anticipated to begin sometime in May. This is a bipartisian (and I am quite shocked at this fact) agreement, each side giving in on one point to obtain another point. This has been decided upon by both parties to help stave off a POSSIBLE recession.

The recession was not created by the Bush presidency. It is a result of the housing industry and mortgage companies' errors, along with a few others that I do not feel is necessary to go into at this time. All of which is neither the Republicans' nor the Democrats' fault. It is simply something that has come about. The lending industry interest rates have also been cut to help stimulate the economy.

When President Bush came into office, he inherited a recession from the Clinton presidency. Am I saying Clinton caused it? NO, just like President Bush did not cause, well it has not happened yet, that is why he has proposed this tax rebate, to forestall or eliminate a possible recession. Yet, on the other hand, one has to admit that the Clinton administration did nothing to forestall or eliminate a recession.

You have to remember, many of President Bush's ideas were fought against by the Democrats. His proposal to improve Social Security was fought off tooth and nail by the democrats. President Bush's plan was simple - out of the social security taxes that an individual had to pay, his plan would allow an individual to take 1% of that amount and put it into an account similar to a 401(k). That money would be the taxpayers' OWN money that the government (again, small government vs. big government) could NOT touch or share with other citizens. And, that individual could leave that account to his/her own family if so chosen to do so. Democrats fought against it, yet they DID NOT OFFER ONE SINGLE IDEA OF THEIR OWN TO IMPROVE SOCIAL SECURITY. Remember this FACT.

But, Hillary Clinton wants to give a $5,000 bond to every new baby born and offer a government controlled 401(k). Can you start seeing the difference in parties? Where on earth is the $5,000 for every new baby born to come from? TAXES! And, do you want the government controlling your 401(K) for pension? That is socialism, government controlling your life. Republicans and President Bush feel the people and their own individual states should make these decisions and the federal government should keep their paws off!

I myself am a devout Christian. I live my life each day trying to be the way Christ calls us to be. But remember, we are all sinners, no matter how hard we try, that is why our Saviour, Jesus Christ was sent to this earth, because we as humans just cannot be sinless. But, do not stray from the messages that the Lord has given us in His word, the Holy Bible. He directly points out the sin of homosexuality, etc. I am sure you have heard the saying "Hate the sin, but love the sinner." That is my basic attitude. When someone condones a sin, such as partial birth abortion, Jesus does NOT tell us to turn our heads the other way. We are called upon as Christians to exhort our brothers and sisters when they are deliberately committing a known sin that is an abomination to the Lord.

We as Christians are also called upon to "not be unequally yoked." Or, as stated in the gospels, we are not to associate with the deliberate, retalitory sinner, as that person will just bring you down and tear you away from following the Lord.

I too do what I can for the poor and homeless. (1)I donate to a chairty that houses and feeds the poor and homeless in my home area. (2) I sponsor a little girl in one of the worst crime ridden ghettos in Brooklyn, NY. My sponsorship helps ensure that she and her mother have food, clothing, medical help, supplies for school, Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas dinner and a Christmas present along with my own Christmas present for her. She is provided, along with her mother, transportation to and from church and special events for the children. (3) I donate to Samaritan's Purse asking them to put the donation wherever it is most needed. (4) I donate to In Touch Ministries. (5) I donate to the local Christian Television network here in Pittsburgh. And, needless to say, I donate to my own church. All that I do, I do in obedience to and love for the Lord.

I keep a journal - my prayer request journal. I am continually adding situations and people that I want to keep in prayer. As I see a prayer answered, I go to my journal and mark down the answered prayer, giving all the praise and glory to God.

One major prayer answered was for a friend of mine who was unjustly fired as chief of police of my hometown. I fought diligently for him, wrote tons of letters, attended council meetings and spoke out on his behalf, prayed continually every day for 2 solid years. He had filed a Federal Whistleblower lawsuit. He won, to the tune of 1.5 million dollars. The power of prayer is mighty.

you attack my christian values based on what ? the fact that I would rather focus on helping prevent unwanted babies then pass a law .. i find that judgemental and that is why the christian religion gets a bad wrap .. WHAT does the deficit have to do with social security? It has been known for years that something was going to need to be done soon. WHY? BABY BOOMERS DEAR ONE!!! There are going to be a ton of us retiring soon and collecting our social security.

AND, due to the decrease in the amount of children families were having, there are less people to pay into the social security system than there are collecting social security.

PLEASE, make an attempt to post with some truth.
