be yourself and do what comes natural or what your heart tells you. The best thing you can do for you is be you and do not let anyone make you nervous. Afterall, we are all humans and make mistakes by nature. Seriously. Just have confidence in yourself and be more assertive. That's all.

Sorry you got laid off been there and I know it sucks and interviews can be the worst. Just take a deep breath and try to relax when interviewing and you will be fine. Good luck I know you will be okayflowerforyou flowerforyou flowerforyou

the best way to get past it is to practice. I've had to do a lot of interviews for pageants, school, work etc. and the only way I've ever felt super confident in myself is when I have sat down and practiced with a friend or family member. Make a list of typical interview questions and have someone ask them to you so you have some experience answering them out loud before the big day.

In a word, don't think about it. Most forms of fear and trepidation come when you overthink what is simple. Just answer the questions the best you can and let your experience in your field be your shining point.

Knocking back a couple shots of tequila wouldn't hurt, either.

Sorry to hear, losing a job can be hard on someone. It can pull your self esteem down and make you feel weird like that. I am in sales, and I find that when doing an interview for a job you have to sell yourself. Have confidence and control the interview and smile, always smile. Good luck on your venture for employment drinker

My recruiter told me to admit you are nervous. Why wouldn't you be. And HR people can spot bull**** a mile away

I just takes practice. If you are shy, you might have trouble talking yourself up. Just remember no one else would do it for you.

The only advice I have is imagine your are giving a reference for a friend to get a job. What would you say? Try to keep "yourself" out of it and remember that the worst thing that can happen is that you'll gain experience and have another chance to do better at the next interview.

You can also say that you are nervous, and bring a copy of your resume. That will humanize you. After all, they'll know you're shy once you start working there, so it's no use pretending to be a person you are not!

Yeah, the more you are used to repeating those qualities about yourself, the easier it will be for it to become second nature. That way, when you get nervous and can't think, you'll have the answers instinctively. As a bonus, once you start answering a few you're likely to calm down and be able to compose yourself again. Good luck!

This is sound advice above!
Meditate, deep breathing, positive thinking!
Maybe by mentioning that you are nervous will help them help you feel more comfortable...

Good Luck to you...

I don't have that problem, because I'm outgoing and gregarious by nature... but the advice I'd give you is to practice for situations like that in front of friends or family.. even a mirror. Speeches, toasts, presentations, job interviews, etc... they're all good for preparing beforehand. I hope you get the job, and they call you back thinking, "Well, she seems smart and nice.. let's try again." (= BOL! (LoL)

If you have the skillz you don't need to b.s. them. Just be confident and if you know you have the qualities just sit down and tell them. Act like you belong there and let them know you can fit in anywhere. If you don't like looking them in the eye then find something beside or above them and stare at it. makes them think you are looking at them. If you have the skills then nothing should scare you.
