A good bro and some very brave people left today for a war that is becoming unpopular. I will Miss them as long as they are gone but I will continue to fully support them. They go to do a job that no one else wants and yet so many are against them. I want everyone to know they fight for our freedoms as well as others. I asked why they do this and one of them told me would you rather we fight them over there or over here? All I can say is God speed and return safe and THANK YOU!

Victory is the only option. I hope some one who ever considers hitting us like that stops and says to themselves "...but look what they did to.... for it. Never mind."

I was reminded of this when I saw this letter recited by a officer in the movie Saving Private Ryan. It brings thoughts of our soldiers to heart.

In the fall of 1864, Massachusetts Governor John A. Andrew wrote to President Lincoln asking him to express condolences to Mrs. Lydia Bixby, a widow who was believed to have lost five sons during the Civil War.
Executive Mansion,
Washington, Nov. 21, 1864.

Dear Madam,--

I have been shown in the files of the War Department a statement of the Adjutant General of Massachusetts that you are the mother of five sons who have died gloriously on the field of battle.

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save.

I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

A. Lincoln

I support the troops, but i feel sorry for them not having any say in this.
They go to war called on by a president who cant pronounce the name of the country he is invading right(he calls it eye-rack) . Then has to admit they invaded without proper intelligence. Then quickly starts to talk about invading Iran (eye-ran).

I dont understand why american freedom has to be protected by invading iran.
Really, I am not against the troops, but I fail to get the big picture.

I will hope and pray that every american soldier comes home safe and sound, but the leaders should take the blame for creating this situation in the first place.

It comes sometimes to a point that we must defend ourselves from other shores and places not known to us. I admit our goverment has become extremely ignorant of policies not only involving the war but here at home. Our people on know that they defend us against someting we are not there to acess, so we rely on a corrupt news agency to fill in the gaps and most of what we see is what they decide sells. It was this way in
WW II, Korea, and Nam. It seems that we should clean up messes here first before going into someone elses backyard, I do have to admit that we, not any one else made the mess in the middle east. The super powers have used those people as pawns and when they decide that they have had enough we have to defend ourselves from the very mess we helped to create.
