And all news outlets are selling horror stories and drama. You get about 1 heart warming story to every 10 tragedies. Back in the day, when news was actually reported, instead of butchered, you had more good stories than bad ones.

yeah, In the sixties the big story was, due to contaminants in the atmosphere, we were going to have a global winter and ice age. That did not work out, so, now we are going to have a global heat wave. To put the whole idea into context, Assuming the entire recorded climatological history of the world is 6000 years(as per biblical timeline), and the earth is some 3.5 billion years old. Then, predicting the future climate of the earth is like predicting your life and all your failures/successes/experiences ACCURATELY based upon the first 40 milliseconds of your life. If the weather service cannot get the weather right for next week, using a similar climatological model, What are the chances of predicting a hundred years down the road? IMAFO 
But it doesn't matter what's fact or not. Al Gore says its, so its gotta be true!  Or was he drunk when he thought it up?

Fox pushes conservative items, CBS pushes liberal items. There are no nuetral ones who simply present the news. PBS (Lehrer) at least attemps to be unbiased, which is more than any of the other outlets |

very true. Most people look for reinforcement of their beliefs and outlooks. Very few want to look for challenges and are insecure if their beliefs/outlooks are challenged

I actually remember when CNN used to actually report the news. Been about 13-14 years, but they used to report the news as news, not as some sort of drama or as an agenda piece. Stupidity, ignorance and sheep mentality is what news sources prey on. The only source of news that's most unbiased is AP, because they put out news fast and don't have time to spin it.

that is very true. Acouple of others are Reuters and the BBC. If you really want an eye opener, read a few of the foreign newspapers about events in the US. It does not even sound like the same occurence that we hear about on our tv news shows.

Oh and the Dems have NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, CSPAN, The Food Network, NPR and CBS. The Republicans get Fox, fair and balanced right there non?

Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), but if you are not a Christian you would yell biased on that end too cause they lean to the moral and positive. Lindyy I STILL say YEA FOX!!
