Don't know about rehab, but you'd think that would deter people from drinking and driving here, but, I guess not.....more news, now they are giving lots of tickets for not abiding by pedestrian walking rules. Must be because of SXSW.

I'm sensitive about the DUI issues. My ex's brother was killed by a drunk driver. My ex says his brother was murdered.

I don't like to see people driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Yes, it's a very sad thing when that happens. Do you know that they say that driving tired is sometimes as bad as drinking?

Some laws do not seem to make sense.

The person who killed my son via a hit-n-run would have only received 7 years maximum. Usually just about 18 months and probation.

Not much you can do. I just wanted to hear a "I'm sorry."

Lindy, if that person does it again, he will have the book thrown at him. I am so sorry for your loss.

When my ex's brother got killed from the drunk driver, the driver received probation. We were outraged. He had had previous DUI arrests. Well, he got drunk and hit another person and he is in jail for quite awhile now.

Well, the driver was never found. I guess every state is different.

I, too, am sorry for your ex's brother.

Police in my borough have a really good program, oh I cannot think of what they call it, oh, 'sobriety check points', throughout the borough everyonce in a while. Can you beleive that they have to advertise it in the paper to warn people of the sobriety test stops, when and where and what hours that they will take place? Unbelieveable.explode

Lindyy.....

We have the same situation in my township .... the police have to advertise when and where for sobriety test stops.
