Why do you think people lie? -To get their own way? -To cover up? -To make them look good? -To make others look bad? -To protect people? -Because we worry about what other people think about us? i.e., some might lie about the love life because they feel stupid if they don't have a girlfriend / boyfriend.. Do some lie without realising? i.e., compulsively?

like my profile says....i think liars are cowards. i'd rather hear the truth than lies. I can deal with the truth whether I like it or not but you can't deal with lies

I Would have to Say people lie to make them look better to others maybe to have that "one Up" feeling where no matter what one did that person has always did something better.

People lie for a lot of reasons!! I don't believe in it myself, nothing good can come from it!!

They lie because they don't realize how much it hurts the other person sometimes and because of poor personal standards. I've learned the hard way sometimes that honesty can be the best policy. what are they lying to you about?

I have a friend who likes to tell white lies and she doesn't think anyone is on to her. We know but it doesn't really matter so it's never brought up.

the world is full of them. It is almost as if it has become a career for some. Sad thing is most of them lie to themselves so much they believe what they are saying to be true
