ok, so here it is.

i have a best friend named mike, we've known each other for 6 years now. we have always had a thing for each but never pursued it because either he was with his gf and i was with my bf and the occasional he was single but i was taken etc. well about a year or so ago we finally told each other somewhat how we felt, but the thing is he calls me everytime he is drunk and says he "loves me", "knows were meant to be", and that he "wants to marry me". i laugh because well he is drunk and prolly doesnt know what he is talking about, but my best friend said people tend to say things they never would when their drunk. could that be it? or these things he has always wanted to say? i mean even when he isnt drunk he'll say "im gonna sweep you off your feet" and what not. as of right now i dont know what to think because anyone could say that...who knows if he is for real right?

Yeah, those phone calls are the best. I've come to think they're just a natural occurence when a man and woman are really good friends. Kind of like a way to fill the gap until the next significant other comes along. I'd just kind of float along and if it's really meant to be, it'll eventually happen. I wouldn't push it, because drunk or not, it could possibly ruin a great friendship, and really, what's more important? Not having to wait to find out if he's really the one? Or the friendship?

Last time I was drunk I said I wanted to be a country singer, I told about 17 girls I loved them and wanted to marry them, and sang Bon Jovi's "Ill be there for you" to a 36 year old married woman and almost got my ass beat.

My point: I hate country music, dont want to get married, cant sing for sht, and am a terrible fighter.

Be careful for drunk talk darlin.

If he's your best friend, sit him down, and ask him, If he cares about you he will be honest about what he wants. Good Luckflowerforyou

He probably has had other girls and he doesn't want to ruin such a good friendship but on the other hand friends usually become the longest lasting lovers and maybe its the only way he can tell you is when he is drunk because other wise if you said no or turned him down then he would have a way out by saying he was drunk and just playing around.

Anyone can say anything when they're drunk. Pay attention to the way he acts and what he says when he's sober. That's the real thing. If a guy doesn't have the balls to say what he feels unless he's drunk, do you really want him to be with you? To have to be drunk to have any kind of real conversation with you sounds pretty lame to me...

I wasn't going 2 respond because I'm not 2 fond of broad generalizations made of men/women.But ask yourself this. How much stock are U willing 2 invest upon the words spewing from an intoxicated person.Hmmmm!I think not.Have a heart 2 heart talk w/him when he's sober & discover his true intentions & feelings that he may have 4 U K.Good Luck!Godspeed!CyPoet
