When technically does an affair "begin"? When you start "talking", when you start kissing or when you "do it"?

wouldnt have one. and one of my old bf was married but he had been separated from her for over 5yrs and of course they wouldnt had gotten back together, i help him wth his paper work for his divorce... so that wasent considered of having affair especially when she had a bf already. and they never did talk

When you are both lonely,you feel that your mate doesn't care or love you anymore.So you found someone that feels the same and yes,it is wrong but you reach for each other and a long the way that lust turns into love and so you carry on behild your mate's backs for years,Until one day it hits you,you will never be together becuase he belongs to someone else.So you just let go one day but you still can't forget him and the love you shared and knowing that it still burns inside after 30 yrs.

When the talking begins to be intimate sharing of things you don't share with your spouse it's almost worse than a physical affair, But to me any sexual contact, even "swapping spit" is start of an affair.
