I guess you would have to saw "why are some American girls materialistic" because I know it has never applied to me and I am American.

My answer would have to be in a capitalistic society, money matters alot. Women want to have the nicer thing too I guess.

I am guessing here though because I have always thought of money as a necessary evil, not a life pursuit.

Ditto, and frankly from what I've seen lately the guys have been becoming more materialistic and greedy. We have become, worldwide, a society that wants more, more, more. I've said for quite a while now that money is one of the worst things ever invented.

NO, first off I don't get hurt my third world countrymen... secondly, when people don't know what they're saying I chalk it up to IGNORANCE... Thirdly, you give yourself far to much credit and FINALLY I buy all of my stuff, I don't expect a man to do it.. Perhaps it only seems this way because in most other societies woman are kept on a shorter leash and don't have the same access to wealth. Maybe the question should be why are men of other countries so controlling of woman and finances.
