which part didn't you understand dragoness???

BUT....an opinion of someone is not true at all (just because it's not your opinion) is arrogance as well. opinions are not facts....they are opinions

what

"Not true at all, just your view."

so if you don't agree with the view (opinion), then that opinion is not true????

you may not agree but opinions are not facts. they are simply opinions....right or wrong is only your opinion

No the facts of the statement were not true. It is just a view of the circumstances being stated. Not factual.

I just called it.

he was giving his opinion on how he feels...not facts

just because you don't agree...doesn't make how he thinks or feels untrue.

and as even you stated "Not true at all, just your view."

I did not ask them to fight for me, nor does my freedom to express myself depend on a soldier.

Actually yes it does. Without those soldiers you may well not have the right.

The operative word here is "might". Conflicts can be resolved without war so it is not a definite that the war had to happen to keep our rights.

No but without them it is definite that war would have happened and we would have lost. Humans have not come so far that they will respect a countries borders when that country is not capable of defending itself. So yes it is definite.

I expect my president to DEMAND respect for his supporters/people.

To bow is to concede victory, defeat. To humble yourself before a superior entity.

We are Americans, not Arabs! If their King wants to be bowed to he can call on his subjects. Our President is not one of them..... I hope!

It's called respect for other cultures. I would be disgusted if my President didn't show respect for other cultures.

I was stated as if it were fact. So not true applies.

Because we would not know how history would have been had another resolution been reached it cannot be a definite.

Human nature says that we most certainly can know that we would not be the free citizens of America without those soldiers. It is only their willingness to fight and die that keeps us from attacks far greater than 9/11. When a people are conquered human nature is that they become subservient to those that conquered them. Those who are subservient are not free, and freedom of speech would most certainly be the first to go.

if we did away with our military...there is NO doubt in my mind that we would be invaded.

Okay, if I was insulting I will always apologize for it. I saw unresolved issues there. I did not mean it as an insult. We all have unresolved issues. It is very normal to have unresolved issues.

SoJourn, I willingly apologize if you were offended, I did not mean it that way. Sorry.

Now who's being insulting? We know what the heck an opinion is, Rose. Like the opinion that we would absolutely have been invaded.. ugh, this is getting petty now..

You mean warring human nature. There is other human nature.

I will disagree with you on this one because we as humans were not evolved enough to utilize our intelligence instead of our brute force, the wars happened but we cannot be positive had a more intelligent approach been made that there could have been a resolution that would not have taken any of our rights.

True, but be can be sure that a more intelligent choice would not have been made and that will continue to be true for at least yours and my lifetimes and probably much longer.

It is not in my nature and it is obviously not in yours to be a warring person. But as long as it is in someone's nature in the world we must be prepared for it or assume the consequences I have outlined.

There is no doubt in the world today without an army, without soldiers we would not be free. Period, this is a simple statement of fact. Possibilities for some day are certainly there, but they are not here right now.
